ATP Marseille Open 13 Tennis Betting Info
Some of the players on the ATP Tour are staying in France as the Marseille Open 13, one of five stops in France on the Tour serves up a competitive line up again this week. There is a good mix of players in the field, led by home favourite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who the crowds will be cheering on again. This is an ATP World Tour 250 event, so it is the kind of tournament which doesn’t attract the biggest stars of the game, because of the lower tiered ranking points available, but there is still a good crop of players competing, some familiar faces we have seen already this year battling it out for titles.

ATP Marseille Open 13 Tennis Betting Defending Champion
The Defending Champion, Sweden’s Robin Soderling is not at the event because of injury which is keeping him out of the game at the moment, but with France producing four winners out of the last six Marseille events, there is good reason to back a home player in this year’s tennis betting as well here. Previous winners this tournament include Andy Murray and Roger Federer. But backing the defending champion here is out.

ATP Marseille Open 13 Tennis Betting Favourite
The prestige and pressure of start the tournament as favourite, falls up on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, which is no great surprise. Not only is the Frenchman on home soil and will have the packing of the group, but is also the highest ranked player at the event. Trading at 5/2 with Bet Victor to take the title, Tsonga is also a previous winner of the event (back in 2009) and he is also in good form, winning in Doha recently, taking out fellow countryman Gael Monfils in the final. If he is on top form throughout the tournament in Marseille, he will take some stopping.

Other Contenders
There is a good chasing pack putting Monfils under pressure in ATP Marseille Open tennis betting. The challenge will be led by Argentinean Juan Martin del Potro, who reached the final of the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam last weekend. Del Potro couldn’t get the better of Roger Federer in the final there, but after a good run to the Australian Open quarter finals as well, Del Potro is getting better and better. He has the big shots, has the massively powerful serve to cause lower ranked fields like this a lot of problems, and that is what should put him in with a good chance of reaching another final for the forthcoming weekend. This is Del Potro’s first time in Marseille, but he has been busy this season and looking sharp enough to challenge. American Mardy Fish is also making his debut at the event, but we haven’t seen much of the world number eight this season. He heads to Marseille on just a 2-1 record for the season, so will probably be playing for sharpness. He goes as second seed, but there are probably stronger options to look at. Like Janko Tipsarevic, another debutant here. The Serbian has been in decent shape in 2012, and reached the final at Chennai in January (losing to Milos Raonic). So Tipsarevic is one of those understated players who could make a good run of things, so too Alexandr Dolgopolov, who is looking to step up to bigger this this season. If you want to look at an alternative French option, then Richard Gasquet is in the field, and Michael Llodra, who is only 2-2 this season, but won in Marseille in 2010, was a losing finalist in 2009 and also has won the double title here three times (twice in the last three years).
