ATP Winston-Salem Tennis Betting Info
There is a men’s tournament on the tennis betting circuit this week, a small and quite intimate affair over in North Caroline for the Winston-Salem Open at the Wake Forest University. This is an ATP World Tour 250 Tournament, so a lower tiered event and you are not going to get the big guns attending things like this. Certainly not the week before the US Open at Flushing Meadows anyway. But for the players involved here, there is a great chance to carry some momentum forward to Flushing Meadows and therefore it should still be quite a good, competitive tennis betting week. Online betting exchange BetFair are showing live streams from the event this week, so they will be a good destination for your markets and your live in play tennis betting as you can get a hold of live streams as well.

ATP Winston-Salem Tennis Betting Favourite and Defending Champion
There was a fitting win in the inaugural tournament last year as North Carolina native John Isner took the title. Naturally that was a pretty favourable result for Isner, who grew up in Greensboro, not far away from Wake Forest Uni. Anyway, he took down Julien Benneteau last season for a popular win and is back to defend his title. The tall American can be patchy and streaky, but you know that he is going to enjoy himself here. He had a battle in the second round coming past Marin Klizan but that will show that he can’t be complacent. The world number ten has been in pretty good shape since Wimbledon this year. He won in Newport, hit the semi’s in Atlanta, the quarter finals at the Olympics and the semi’s in Montreal. So he should be a pretty good fit here again and goes as favourite at a price of 2/1 with online betting exchange BetFair.

ATP Winston-Salem Tennis Betting Other Contenders
Can’t ignore the presence of France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the field as he is the top ranked player in the draw. Bit of a hesitation about the Frenchman though, who had to miss Cincinnati last week because of an accident the previous week in Canada. So Tsonga will welcome a deep run at Winston-Salem this week in order to get his preparations right for the 2012 US Open. A good hard court player and naturally will be a little bit cautious going through the tournament, but at the end of the day, you can’t ignore his talent and it is not as if it is one of the toughest draws in front of him.

Andy Roddick will make a nuisance of himself no doubt here. The former world number one played here last year as well and made it to the semi finals. He has picked up two Tour titles for the season and took out fellow American James Blake in quite a battle in the second route to move ahead. Roddick took both sets on a tie break to progress. He won in Atlanta in July but after that he whimpered out of the London Olympics and then in the first round of Cincinnati last week. So needs a return to form. This is just about the level of tournament and depth of field in which you can see him excel Will be a danger in the field.

Tomas Berdych, the world number seven goes as second seed for the tournament and he is making his début in Winston-Salem. He was pretty strong over the first half of the year and the Czech is just looking to reproduce that kind of early season form. Hasn’t really happened for a while for him, but he is one of the players who can step up and deliver. It also means that he is going to be some pretty handy value in the tournament as well and is going to be worth consideration Will run into Roddick if they make it to the quarter final stage.

Best Outside Bet
Would look down in the bottom half of a draw for an outside shot, because you have both John Isner and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga up in the top half. Therefore as our outside tennis bet this week we will turn to Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov. He made the quarter finals here last year and he lifted the Washington title recently. However, his following tournaments after that were both first round exits in Toronto and then in Cincinnati. Can do better than that and therefore would make a decent outside shot from the bottom half.. Dolgopolov is trading at a price of 5/1 with online betting exchange BetFair.
