Cherries to pick up a point of Tottenham?

Bournemouth

Bournemouth v Tottenham Betting Preview – Premier League 22nd October

This looks as if it will be a great game to kick off the Premier league this weekend. Spurs have had a tricky week with draws in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways. They are the only side not to have been beaten in this season’s top flight and they will get a game from the Cherries. Bournemouth have only suffered the one loss in their last six played and will be full of confidence after having smashed Hull 6-1 last week at home to climb up into mid-table. Can the Cherries pull off a massive three points against the Lilywhites?

Bournemouth v Tottenham Betting Tips

It has been a great run of form from Bournemouth in the Premier League but they won’t get an easy game on Saturday. They have only faced Spurs three times before and hold a W1 L2 record from that sequence of games. Their only win over the Lilywhites happened back in 1957 and they were hammered in both Premier League meetings against Tottenham last season. Bournemouth conceded eight goals across the two league meetings with Spurs last term and scored just the one in return. But can they get something out of this latest meeting as they are in terrific home form at the moment. They have won their last three there on the bounce in the top flight, conceding just the one goal in those three games. Overall they have gone W3 D2 L1 record in their last six league games.

So they may match up well against Spurs at the moment. Junior Stanislas was on a nine game scoreless streak in the top flight but has now netted three in his last two and he can be backed at a price of 3/1 in the anytime goalscorer market with Callum Wilson at 16/8 and Josh King at 11/4. The Cherries like to burst forward when they can but they will face a tough Spurs defence and therefore under 2.5 goals may be a tempting proposition in this one. Bournemouth have not won back to back Premier League matches since back in March, so despite all of their positive returns this season, that feat has remained out of reach. Bournemouth to have won just one of their last nine top-flight games against London sides (D2 L6), and have yet to register a home Premier League win against a side from the capital (D1 L4).

Tottenham’s defence played out a 0-0 midweek draw at Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League so they had an extra game to get through since last weekend. They could only managed a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns against West Brom in the Premier League last weekend and they were rescued at the end by Dele Alli. that was after they had been totally dominant in the match. The Lilywhites have produced a W2 D2 record out on the road in the top flight this season and they bagged just the one clean sheet in that sequence. In the correct score market you have a price of 6/1 on the 1-1 draw, the shortest priced option in the market. Tottenham’s defence is, by and large, superb and they have shipped just four Premier League goals.

They will miss Toby Alderweireld after his injury against the Baggies last weekend, snapping a 46 match consecutive appearance streak for him. Of the eight goals last season that they put past Bournemouth, five of those were netted by Harry Kane, so they’ll miss him for this one. They still have tremendous quality upfront of course though with Vincent Janssen is a 6/4 price in the anytime goalscorer market with Son Heung-Min at a 7/4. Dele Alli, who has been in good scoring form this season is an 11/5 price to net. If Spurs avoid defeat in this one it will be the fifth time in their history that they have gone nine games unbeaten from the start of a top flight season. Usually with Tottenham, things aren’t done by big margins in games, so a Tottenham to win by a 1 goal margin will fetch you a price of 11/4.

Bournemouth v Tottenham Predictions

Tottenham haven’t struggled for clean sheets out on the road and they had to go through that extra game in midweek. The Cherries are full of energy and while they may have to concede a lot of possession to the visitors, they have the pace breaking froward to get something out of this. It may be worth plumping for the draw in the match outright and looking under 2.5 goals should be the way to go.
