Bradford v Millwall Betting Preview – League One 20th May 3.00pm

Despite finishing the season with some patchy form, Millwall turned up and played very well in their semi-final second leg against Scunthorpe, pulling off a big underdog win in that tie. So will Bradford, be able to stand tall at the back as they did in their semi-final success over Fleetwood? The last three between these two have all ended in a 1-1 draw so we can expect a pretty tight and tense affair at Wembley on Saturday for a place in next season’s Championship.

Bradford v Millwall Betting Tips

Bradford finished six points ahead of Millwall at the end of the regular season in League One and they put on a good defensive show in shutting out Fleetwood in both legs of their semi-final. That was actually a big return from the Bantams who were underdogs for that tie. Bradford have gone W3 D2 L1 now in their last six games and have taken a clean sheet in four of those too, so they have the defensive capabilities to stick in there. Bradford to win to nil at William Hill is a price of 3/1, the same price as the reverse option. So you have no home and away form to look at for this Wembley showdown and after three 1-1 draws on the bounce between these two, including in the second leg of last season’s League One Play Off semi final (which Millwall won 4-2 on aggregate) this should be tight. A repeat 1-1 correct score option at William Hill is a quote of 5/1 across the 90 minutes. The overall head to head in the last six meetings reads one win each and four draws. Under 2.5 goals at William Hill looks a lock at a price of 3/5.

So there isn’t much to choose between them and Millwall pulled out a bit of a shock with a 3-2 second leg away win at Scunthorpe in their semi-final showdown. They looked as if they had missed the boat in only drawing the first leg 0-0 at home. But that second leg victory takes the Lions to a W3 D1 L2 record in their last six. What could give Millwall a chance in this one is that Bradford won just one of their twelve matches against other top-six League One sides across the course of the season. Millwall does carry a good goalscoring threat in Steven Morrison and Lee Gregory who are a quote of 12/5 and 13/8 respectively in the anytime goalscorer market. That having been said, they have struggled for goals lately, scoring in just two of their last five games played, as they put in a relatively poor end of season run in. But that win out at Scunthorpe will have done their belief the power of good. This is going to be a tight final and both teams not to score at William Hill is a price of 4/5. The Lions are even money to lift the trophy, with Bradford at 4/5.

Bradford v Millwall Predictions

Millwall to win: Millwall were underdogs in their semi-final against Fleetwood but came through the tie admirably. They have the head to head form going against the Bantams as well and while this is going to be a tight affair most likely, the Lions are value to edge it, probably by a one-goal margin and nothing more.
