Chelsea v Arsenal Betting Preview – Premier League 4th February 12.30pm

After a midweek draw at Anfield, Chelsea will be happy to head back to home soil with the chance to heap some more misery on rivals Arsenal. The Gunners were stunned at the Emirates by Watford on Tuesday night and now they face a tough trip across the capital to face the league leaders. Arsenal’s failing has left them a massive nine points behind the Blues and it leaves the Gunners desperate for a win whereas Chelsea wouldn’t be totally unhappy with another draw for the week. Chelsea’s loss against Arsenal earlier in the season sparked their positive transformation, what will do down this time around?

Chelsea v Arsenal Betting Tips

What a cracking way to start off the weekend. A massive London derby at Stamford Bridge is set to ignore the weekend and there were mixed fortunes for the two combatants in midweek. Chelsea had a tough away game at Liverpool and survived the night on Merseyside with a 1-1 draw in the bag and it could have been better as Diego Costa missed a penalty. Form and momentum is still with Chelsea in the Premier League title race and they have suffered just the one defeat in their last seventeen Premier League matches now with a fantastic (W15 D1 L1) record. So it is hard not to trust them, especially at the Bridge because they are currently on an eight match winning streak on home soil and they have scored at least two goals in all but two of their home fixtures this season. They currently have an aggregate of 24-3 in their last eight home games. Over 2.5 goals with Coral is a price of 4/5. Chelsea were embarrassed 3-0 at the Emirates earlier in the season, but that is the game that sparked their tremendous reaction to become title favourites.

The Blues hold a nine point advantage at the top of the table over their nearest challengers and so are cruising and can afford to draw really. However, they have beaten Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in their last two on home soil against the Gunners and a Chelsea 2-0 correct score at Coral for this meeting is a price of 9/1. Chelsea are currently on a four match winning streak at home against Arsenal in the league and they have kept a clean sheet in each of the last three against them a well. Chelsea are 9/4 to win to nil on Saturday. Chelsea have six clean sheets in their last eight league home games and they can be backed at a price of 7/4 to land a clean sheet in this one as well. Diego Costa is an even money anytime goalscorer option and he has two goals in four previous league appearances against Arsenal. Home and away in league match ups, Chelsea have gone W6 D2 L1 in their last nine against Arsenal in the league. It is looking like a tough game for Arsenal.

The Gunners were beaten up in midweek when Watford went to the Emirates and sprung a huge surprise in taking a 2-1 win. Arsenal were dreadful in the first half and that was a hammer blow for their title hopes, with Chelsea dropping a couple of points in the week. Still if you look at Arsenal’s overall form they are not going too badly with a W4 D1 L1 record posted over their six league games. Their form away from home isn’t great though at the moment because they have only gone W1 D1 L2 in their last four away from the Emirates and have shown some weaknesses at the back Arsenal have shipped seven goals in their last four away games. Both teams to score at Coral is trading at a price of 3/4. Arsenal have not done the double over Chelsea in the same season since 2003/04 – the season in which they last won the Premier League. Theo Walcott netted Arsenal’s last league goal at Stamford Bridge which was back in 2013 and he is a price of 11/4 in the anytime goalscorer market, with Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez at 2/1. Arsenal have won three of their four Premier League London derbies this season.

Chelsea v Arsenal Predictions

Chelsea can afford to not win this one which makes a huge difference in the context of the game. They would be happy enough with a draw in his one, but given their winning streak on home soil against Arsenal and just how poorly the Gunners played in midweek against Watford in the first half, back Chelsea to find the gaps to gain revenge for that loss at the Emirates earlier in the season. A Chelsea to win by a one goal margin has to be some good value.
