Chelsea v Nordsjaelland Betting Preview
Ultimately the fate of Chelsea’s Champions League defence is out of their hands. They have to produce a win at home against the Danes but that won’t be enough to see them into the knockout stage of the competition unless group leaders Shakhtar Donetsk fail to take three points against Juventus. If the Italians get a point on the board in that match, then it is over for Chelsea and they will be resigned to the indignity of becoming the first defending champions to crash out in the group stage.

Chelsea v Nordsjaelland Recommended Bet:
Obviously this is a very winnable game for the out of form Chelsea. They slumped to seven matches without a win in the Premier League this season, as they were defeated at West Ham on the weekend. A hammering in Turin by Juventus on Match Day Five sounded the signal to sack Roberto Di Matteo and in came former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez. So far, the Spaniards has picked up two goalless draws and one defeat in his short time in charge at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea won 4-0 out in Copenhagen, even if the they were made to work hard and the goals came later in the game than expected. It is not as if Chelsea have been immensely strong at home in the Champions League, they drew 2-2 against Juventus and then a last minute goal from Victor Moses saw the Blues edge Shakhtar Donetsk 3-2. There should be more goals in this one and Chelsea have won all of their home matches since the start of last season’s successful Champions League campaign. Chelsea’s previous two home games against Danish opposition both ended in draws. At the end of the day this should produce a comfortable home win for Chelsea and maybe briefly take some pressure off Benitez.

The Danes are without a win in their last eleven European games now, with this being their first appearance in the Champions League. Their only point came in a draw against Juventus in the group so far, with all other matches ending in defeat. They have mustered up just three goals and have conceded sixteen in their five matches so far, so there is nothing to suggest that they are going to cause an upset, no matter how much out of form Chelsea are. They haven’t scored on a goal on the road in their two matches so far and would comfortably back the home side. Would look for a Over 4 Goals Total for a price of Evens at online bookmaker Unibet.
