Is the Trump presidency doomed before it starts?

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

Donald Trump must be the most controversial president-elect in US history and bookmakers are not convinced that the billionaire is going to see out a full term of office.

Apparently, three quarters of Americans want to see his tax returns amid claims that he hasn’t paid anything to the US tax office in almost 20 years. Presidents are almost universally unpopular but few gain notoriety before they take office. Trump has been buying Facebook ads to get people to turn up at his inauguration. He would probably run the country via Twitter if he could and he’s already fallen out with his own security services amid fears that he’s too close to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Just days before his inauguration – the man who has made and lost billions and been labelled, at different times, a misogynist, a racist and a liar – is still facing a string of lawsuits despite settling several out of court at the end of last year.

He’s angered Angela Merkel and French counterpart Francois Hollande over his attitude towards NATO and having Nigel Farage and Michael Gove as best buddies won’t be endearing him to many Britons. Indeed, there was a petition put before Parliament last year to ban him from the UK.

Ladbrokes are only offering Evens in their Donald Trump Specials that the one-time Democrat supporter-turned-Republican leaves office through resignation or impeachment before his first term ends. No less than The Washington Post believes the Trump presidency is already doomed, arguing that he’ll be hounded out of office though moment Congress realise just how unpopular the country’s new leader really is.
