England v Montenegro Betting Preview
The stakes suddenly get a little bit higher on Tuesday for Roy Hodgson’s men as they go into action in Montenegro. This is the battle for top spot and should England slip to a defeat, then they would be five points behind Montenegro and their hopes of gaining an automatic qualification spot at Brazil 2014, totally shot. So there is going to be little margin for error out in Podgorica. There is of course memories of the last time England were there, in October of 2011 in the Euro 2012 qualifiers, which saw Wayne Rooney get a red card.

England v Montenegro Recommended Bet:
An 8-0 thumping of San Marino for Roy Hodgson’s men wasn’t really any kind of test for them. But it may have served well as a training match for them. There was confidence in front of goal as well with plenty of different players getting on the scoresheet. In contrast, Montenegro had to battle through a tough match with ten men in a 1-0 win over Moldova on Friday night. That may have taken a lot out of them, while England should be fresh. The Three Lions are still a bit lightweight at the back and they will obviously come under a lot more pressure than they did on Friday. This is a night where England really need to pull out the stops to try and help Joe Hart record a clean sheet. A draw wouldn’t be a disaster, but there wouldn’t be room for any more dropped points if that happens. At least they boosted their goal difference with the coast in San Marino.

Montenegro went down to ten men in Moldova on Friday night, but managed to grab a late winner. That was a vital goal for them, or else they would have been going into this a point behind England. They are a hard working tough side and like England are unbeaten so far in qualification, conceding just two goals along the way, again, just like England. Montenegro had the better of the match against Moldova in terms of possession, but conceded plenty of shots which should give England some hope. The Three Lions will be fielding a different line up, as energy conservation ahead of the Montenegro meeting was order of the day.

There may not be too much to choose between these and a one goal winning margin for either is tempting. But a draw seems a likely outcome given everything at stake here and worth looking at for a price of 5/2 with online bookmaker Ladbrokes.

England v Montenegro Head to Head
The two nations have met just twice before in history and that was in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Both matches produced a draw, England taking a 0-0 at home before that needling away match which England blew a two goal lead to tie 2-2 with Rooney getting sent off.
