Four big games to come over the next four days, starting on Thursday, June 30th. The field of twenty four which started Euro 2016 have been cut down to eight and there have been some surprise omissions from the line up in the quarter finals of the tournament. Reigning holders Spain were dumped out of the tournament by Italy in the round of sixteen, while England suffered a huge embarrassment in being outfought and outsmarted by minnows Iceland in their round of sixteen game.

So the tournament remain wide, wide open and here we take a look at Euro 2016 Quarter Finals Betting Odds & Predictions.

Poland v Portugal

This looks as if it will be the tightest of the four quarter finals at Euro 2016. Both know how to play defensive football, Portugal do it by nature and Poland, who can play some good attacking stuff, decided to produce more of a defensive display in their round of sixteen match up against Switzerland. Both had to go through extra time in their respective round of sixteen matches and it is hard to see a flood of goals happening in this one. It will probably be tight all of the way and there should be a real possibility of extra time happening here. Poland have conceded in just two of their last eight matches whereas Portugal have two clean sheets in their last four. Poland do have the better attacking options at the end of the day and they may edge favoritism and the Poles are 6/4 value to qualify. They are unbeaten in their last three against the Portuguese.

Wales v Belgium

Belgium have been hit and miss at the tournament. They have looked good in big wins over Hungary and Ireland but were dull and lifeless in a defeat against Italy and a narrow win over Sweden. So it’s hard to know which Belgium is going to turn up in this one. Wales will return to the style of game that suits them, namely sitting back and soaking up pressure and then looking to hit on the break. Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey are again going to be highly important for the Dragons, who are unbeaten in their last three against the Belgians, including having taken four points off of them during Euro 2016 qualifying. Wales have the belief, the heart and the courage to grind their way through this. Belgium may well fade from the game the longer the Welsh can keep them scoreless. Look for a 90 minute draw.

Germany v Italy

Some of the stuff that Italy have produced at Euro 2016 has been a tactical masterclass. Chelsea will be happy with the performances that incoming boss Antonio Conte has produced for the Italians. They have been immense in defence and they collectively step up and press high up the pitch during spells of games to unsettle opponents. They will push the Germans hard in this one, but Italy are underdogs for this one, despite having beaten both Spain and Belgium comfortably at the tournament. The Azzurri are a big 3/1 price to win, leaving Germany at a tempting 5/4 shot. Germany were on a different level to anything they produced in the group stage when they took out Slovakia in the round of sixteen. They had their game heads on and if they deliver the same kind of performance, or better, they can break the Italians. The two met earlier this year in a friendly and Germany won 4-1.

France v Iceland

It was such a conflicting display from Iceland in their victory over england in the last round, it is a shame that they haven’t gotten more credit for it, that all the fallout has been about England’s demise. Iceland played their best game of the tournament and it was the one in which they were the most comfortable in as well. France haven’t been making life easy for themselves, not having hit their best form yet. But with Iceland having gone with just the one clean sheet in their last ten games played, Les Bleus will get chances. It is likely that Iceland’s dream is going to come to and end at someone and France have shown already that they are doing just enough to get through games without playing all that well. France to win as they have scored three goals in three of their last four against Iceland.

Euro 2016 Top Goalscorer predictions

Heading into the quarter finals, Antoine Griezmann, Gareth Bale and Alvaro Morata are all sat on three goals at the head of the top goalscorer market. Spain’s Morata won’t be adding any to his account with the holders having been eliminated which leaves France’s Griezmann as the new 3/1 outright favourite. Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are joint 6/1 second favourites with Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku at 7/1 and Germany’s Mario Gomez (all of them on two goals for the tournament) at a price of 8/1.
