Hull 50/1 to land Premier League Top Ten Finish

How far can Tigers' revival go under Silva?

What an arrival Marco Silva has had in his short span as Hull boss. He was being written off even before he had arrived at the KCom, but now the Portuguese boss has silenced all his critics after having given the Tigers real hope of survival this season. The Tigers had won just one of their previous 18 league matches before Silva arrived in East Yorkshire and how things have turned around.

Silva has guided them to a W2 D1 L1 record in his four league games in charge in the top flight, which included a home win over Liverpool and a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United. He also saw them take a win over Manchester United in the second leg of an EFL Cup semi final as well. So big brownie points for him and his seven point haul in four league games is as many as the Tigers had managed in their previous 18 league games.

They are still odds-on in the Premier League relegation market at Paddy Power, where they are 4/5 second favourites behind 2/5  favourites Sunderland to be playing Championship football next season. But currently heading into the next round of matches, there are just two points separating the bottom six teams and with Hull putting on a revival, others like Leicester and Crystal Palace are going the other way.

So can Hull climb their way up the table for punters to take advantage of a 50/1 shot on them to land a top ten finish? They are ten points beneath that as it stands, but there are 14 games to go and they are looking competitive and Silva brought in some much needed player power in the January transfer window, notably striker Oumar Niasse and playmaker Evandro Goebel, while Andrea Ranocchia has come in on loan to steel up the back line.

Of course what could play its part is their fixture list at home for the rest of the season and they have it comfortable at the KCom really until the final day of the season when they host Spurs. Before then they will play off against Burnley, Swansea, West Ham, Middlesbrough, Watford and Sunderland there, so there are some big points going to b on offer to them there, particularly against others threatened by relegation. Yes, a 50/1 shot is a long-shot, but with just one defeat in their last seven on home soil in the league, there is room to climb.
