Juventus v Real Madrid Betting Preview – UEFA Champions League 3rd June 7.45pm

This is a repeat of the 1988 Final which Real Madrid won 1-0 and they are favourites going into this encounter with the Old Lady as well. This is Real Madrid’s third Final in the last four years but they will face a very tough Juventus side. The Italians showed their might in expertly knocking Barcelona out of the semi-final stage without conceding a single goal in the two legs against the Catalans. Juventus v Real Madrid Betting Tips

So this is a big night for Juventus, who have lost more European Cup/Champions League Finals than any other side (4). This will be their 19th meeting with Real Madrid in the tournament, making it the second-most played fixture in the European Cup/Champions League (to Bayern Munich v Real Madrid). Things are even between the two European giants from their 18 previous match ups with eight wins apiece. Just one of those have been in the final of the competition, which ended in a 1-0 win for real Madrid in 1998. The Old Lady have not suffered a defeat in this season’s UEFA Champions League with a fantastic W9 D3 record having been put on the board. Considering that they had to go up against Barcelona in the semi-finals, that just makes their record look even better. The last club to win the Champions League with an unbeaten campaign was Manchester United in 2007/08. Juventus, like Madrid, will be in their sixth UEFA Champions League Final, a joint record along with AC Milan.

So the Old Lady don’t have a great record in the finals, to say the least. They have lost each of their last four European Cup Finals on the bounce from an overall record of W2 L6. So can they snap that losing form? They are actually unbeaten in their last three against real Madrid (W1 D2) and they have lost just the once in their last seven games against the Spanish giants (W4 D2). So there is some head to head form there from them. Juventus have played 53 games against Spanish clubs in UEFA competition, with the record W19 D14 L20 and along with having beaten Spanish side Barcelona this season, they also went up against Sevilla in the group stage, picking up four points against the La Liga side. Juventus hold a W3 L3 in European penalty shoot outs. Gonzalo Higuain, who netted a brace in the first leg of their semi-final against Barcelona, is a 7/5 Bet Victor anytime goalscorer option for them with Paul Dybala at 2/1. The Juventus defence has been tremendous with nine clean sheets in twelve games (3 goals conceded).

Juventus to win to nil at Betvictor Is a big 7/2 price though, because of the scoring power of Real Madrid. If you wanted to oppose that, and there is a trend to do so, then you have 19/20 on both teams to score in the final and that has happened in each of the last four meetings between the two sides and in five of the last six meetings as well. Real Madrid have Cristiano Ronaldo as the 10/3 favourite in the Bet Victor First Goalscorer market. Ronaldo has reached the 10-goal mark for the sixth consecutive Champions League campaign and he has scored in all four of his previous games against Juventus (5 goals) for Real Madrid. They are probably going to need a special night from him to try and help them become the first side to retain the Champions League title. This is Real Madrid’s 15th European Cup/Champions League Final and that is four more than any other club (AC Milan 11). They have a 78% success rate with 11 wins in their previous 14 finals which is pretty phenomenal.

Remarkably, and what will keep punters with them, is that Real Madrid have won all five of their UEFA Champions League Finals. They don’t have a particularly strong defence, it has to be said and have conceded in 11 of their 12 Champions League games this season. In the Bet Victor correct score market the 1-1 draw at 90 minutes is the shortest priced option at 5/1. 14 of Real Madrid’s last 15 Champions League goals have been scored from the 42nd minute onwards and therefore a Draw/Real Madrid half-time/full-time bet may have appeal for punters at a price of 5/1. Real Madrid were unbeaten in the competition this season until their semi-final second leg loss against Atletico Madrid and that snapped a 16 match unbeaten streak that they were on in the competition. Real Madrid are on a four-match winning streak against Italian sides and their record against Italian clubs is P69 W33 D11 L25. Real Madrid have a W2 L2 record in European penalty shoot outs.

Juventus v Real Madrid Predictions

Juventus to win: The Italians have to be worth a punt on this one after what they did to Barcelona in the semi-finals. If they can shut them down, they can do the same to Real Madrid as well and the Old Lady can be clinical on the break. Real Madrid’s defence isn’t the tightest this season and that may just afford the Italians the opportunity they need to break though.
