Postponed favourite for go ahead

Horse Racing Betting

There will be a maximum of ten runners in Saturday’s King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot. The outright favourite heading into the fixture is Postponed, who is the joint highest-rated horse in Europe and is going off at a quote of 1/2 with online betting site Bet Victor. This is a stunning horse with five straight wins under his belt and the five-year old is excited to go back out and repeat his feat of last season.

Twelve months ago, Andrea Atzeni rode Postponed to victory in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, beating out Eagle Top, the 5/2 favourite by a nose on the occasion. With Postponed having gone from strength to strength, the five year old is a red hot favourite for Saturday’s feature race. His impressive win at the coronation Cup in June at Epsom, which was his third Group One victory has just raised his stock even further.

Dartmouth, at a price of 11/2 is second favourite for the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes betting behind Postponed. This is a Royal runner, being owned by The Queen and the Colt will get the first crack at top level racing after a victory at the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes. Coral Eclipse winner Hawkbill gets a pass on this one not being supplemented, with Highland Reel standing ground at 7/1.

Highland Reel goes for trainer Aiden O’Brien, who has won the trace three times before so may have some stock. The only other declaration coming in at single figures is Wings of Desire who is a price of 8/1 at online betting site Betvictor. So favourite Postponed will face a maximum of nine challengers for the race from the five day declarations.
