Can Lewis Hamilton land his first win of the new F1 season? After Sebastian Vettel impressed in his Ferrari on the opening weekend of the 2017 season, it is off to the Chinese Grand Prix over the weekend, where the practice has been disrupted by rain and so no-one really knows where they stand at the moment. It hasn’t stopped Hamilton going off as 6/5 outright favourite for the race with Bet365 and that could partly be because he is the most successful driver in this history of the race.
Hamilton has collected the chequered flag at the Chinese Grand Prix four times before and twice in the last three years. It was his teammate last season Nico Rosberg who took the win, but Hamilton should be back strong and well in the hunt for the top spot. Mercedes has won four of the last five editions of the Chinese Grand Prix and although the Ferrari of Vettel was notably quicker in the opening race of the season, the balance could be redressed here.
Vettel is a 7/4 second favourite with Hamilton’s new Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas at 13/2. That’s pretty much it according to the bookmakers as far as a winner. The Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo weren’t strong enough on the opening weekend in Australia to suggest that they are going to get in the mix yet. So Pole Position could be all important in this one and Hamilton is 8/11 favourite at Bet365 to start the Chinese Grand Prix from the front of the grid, with Vettel at 5/2 to start from the front.
