Man Utd V Braga Champions League
It has been, well, not a particularly comfortable ride for Manchester United in the Champions League group stage so far, but with maximum points, they can book passage to the knock-out round with a win on Wednesday night. United have won all their matches by a one goal margin so far, and have been rattled and pushed by Cluj, Braga and Galatasary in the group so far. With United winning 3-2 at Old Trafford on Match Day Three against Braga, they’ll be favourites to take a win and complete the double over the Portuguese side.

Verdict:
The Red Devils aren’t going to let any drama creep into their campaign are they? They had to muscle their way past the Portuguese side at Old Trafford on Match Day Three, coming back from a two goal deficit early on. But the fact that they were able to respond shows the experience they have in situations like this. What has made opposition life easier against the Red Devils this season is that United are not very strong at the back, especially against pace. They look likely to concede every match and with some gusto, Braga will fancy their chances. Braga may well be worth backing for a point here because they have won their last four home matches against English opposition. Jose Peseiro’s side have beaten Liverpool and Arsenal in the last five years, so they may not be total pushovers. Their spirited play and opportunism at Old Trafford showed that, and United weren’t great on the road last season in the group stage. United came throughout their one away trip with a narrow 2-1 win over Cluj on Match Day One, and even if Sir Alex Ferguson rests a few, they should have enough support to score more than they concede. A Manchester United -0.75 Asian Handicap for a price of 6/4 at online bookmaker Bet365 may be worth a look.

Man Utd v Braga Betting Preview:
United have built a comfortable lead at the top of Group H with three wins from three. They have scored an average of two per game but have conceded an average of one per game. United’s defence has been the thing which has made life a little difficult for them, and why they have had to overcome some bumps, and it will get tested on Wednesday However, United have some good stats behind them to warrant a win. They have lost just one of their last 16 Champions League group stage matches away from home, winning eleven of those. They are also unbeaten in their last four visits to Portugal as well, and over the last six visits there, they have scored exactly one goal on each of their last six trips. The fire-power that United have is superb at the moment, and they have scored in their last 19 European matches in a row. United’s record in Portugal is W5 D2 L4

Can Braga deal with that at the end of the day? The defeat against United on Match Day Three has been their only defeat in their last six matches in all competitions so they aren’t in bad form. The fact that they blew a two goal lead though will have been devastating for them. However, not only have they won their last four matches on home soil against English teams, they haven’t conceded a single goal in those matches. In total, Braga have played seven and won four, lost three at home against English sides. This is the first time they will have hosted Manchester United. A win will keep them in the hunt for qualification, but the more they push forward, the more likely it is that United will pick them off.
