Manchester United v Bournemouth Betting Preview – Premier League 4th March 12.30pm

The Red Devils will be hoping to extend their good unbeaten streak of form in the Premier League as they took to try and put pressure on Arsenal for fourth spot in this Saturday lunchtime kick off. United start the weekend in sixth place in the top flight but they are keeping touch with the top four just about and have a game in hand over some of them. As for Bournemouth, they are on a big slump at the moment having lost seven of their last ten games. It may end up being easy pickings for the Red Devils, who will be full of confidence after their EFL Cup success last weekend.

Manchester United v Bournemouth Betting Tips

Back in October last year, Manchester United went to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea and suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat. But since then, they have put together a 16 match unbeaten streak in the Premier League, so impressive stuff from them. They are still in a great position to have a crack at the top four as well as long as they can keep their momentum going. United’s record in their last sixteen league games is W9 D7 and they also have a 100% home record against Bournemouth as well, with five wins from five against the Cherries at old Trafford. United have netted a total of 15 goals in those five games against the Cherries and have shipped just the on in return. So a comfortable win looks to be ahead for the Red Devils on Saturday lunchtime and three points would send them temporarily up into fourth place. United have gone W6 D6 L1 in the Premier League at Old Trafford this season, but they wins have started to come more frequently as they have gone W4 D2 in their last six home games. United to win to nil at Coral is a price of 5/6 and that should have some appeal.

Jose Mourinho’s men have recorded a clean sheet in all but two of their last six league games and the last time that they conceded more than one goal in a match was in that 4-0 defeat at Chelsea last October. So they are strong and organised and you have a Manchester United 2-0 correct score at Coral trading at 11/2. United’s last two wins over Bournemouth have been by a 3-1 scoreline and that is an 11/1 poke to repeat itself. Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again rescued United as his goal won the EFL Cup last weekend and is trading at 4/7 in the anytime goalscorer market. He has scored just one goal fewer in all competitions in 2017 (9) than Bournemouth have (10) and he has now netted 26 goals across all competitions this season. No other United player has hit double figures yet. Wayne Rooney though has scored in each of his last two games against the Cherries and is 6/5 to net. This will be just the fourth Premier League meeting between the two with United holding a W2 L1 record after landing a 3-1 at Bournemouth over the opening weekend of the 2016/17 season.

The Cherries have been slipping backwards and there is concern for them about getting sucked into the relegation zone if it continues. They are on a four match losing streak and they have gone only D2 L5 in their last seven league games. Defensively they have been a train-wreck lately and they have conceded at least two goals in nine of their last ten league games. The Cherries have gone W1 L6 in their last seven away from the Vitality and they are currently on a three match losing streak out on the road in the top flight. The last time that Bournemouth lost five league matches on the bounce was back in March 2013 when they were down in League One. Bournemouth have collected fewer league points in 2017 than any other Premier League side and they have conceded 20 goals this year in the league, seven more than any other team has done. Both teams to score in this one is a price of 11/10 as the Cherries have scored in their last two against United. Incidentally, the Red Devils will become the first side ever to collect 600 Premier League wins if they are triumphant in this one.

Manchester United v Bournemouth Predictions

It is hard to see Bournemouth stopping the rot as they make their way to Old Trafford. United have only lost one of 23 games this season on home soil across all competitions and with the Cherries leaking goals badly, this should be a comfortable three points for Manchester United. They aren’t value in the match outright, so look for them to take the win by a two goal margin as they did on their last home game against the Cherries.
