After the international break, the Premier League action returns with some style as it is Liverpool v Everton time in the Merseyside derby. Liverpool went to Goodison Park earlier in the season and landed a 1-0 win over the rivals, which extended their unbeaten run of matches against them to 13 in all competitions. Even though the Reds have been a powerful home side in the Premier League this season, they know that they will be facing a tough game from Everton who have produced some cracking form of their own lately and have the huge goalscoring threat of Romelu Lukaku in their ranks.

Will Liverpool be able to extend their unbeaten streak of form out against Everton when the two meet in Saturday’s Premier League Merseyside derby? With a W5 D7 record in their last twelve against the Toffees, only once before have they gone on a longer undefeated run against their neighbours (13 games between 1972 and 1978). Liverpool have been fantastic at home in the Premier League this season, losing just one of their fourteen league games there (W10 D3) and they have taken victories over both Tottenham and Arsenal in their last three played there. Liverpool are currently on a three-match winning streak on home soil in the top flight.

A Liverpool 1-0 correct score at Bet365 is a price of 15/2 which repeats the scoreline from their win at Goodison Park earlier in the season. They have won two of their last three at home against Everton by a 4-0 scoreline though and that is a big 28/1 price at Bet365 to happen again in this one. Over 2.5 goals at Bet365 is an 8/11 option on the game and Liverpool have won their last three league games in a row against their city rivals. Liverpool are unbeaten in 14 Premier League games in this season’s current top 10 (W8 D6 L0) and have won more league points against top ten opponents than they have against teams from the bottom half of the table. Daniel Sturridge, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all around the 4/5 mark in the anytime goalscorer market.

Liverpool’s defence will likely be tested by the scoring form of Romelu Lukaku though who is a 6/4 Bet365 anytime goalscorer option. He has scored 21 goals in the top flight this season and has 11 in 10 league appearances in the 2017 calendar year. The Belgian has five league goals against Liverpool, but just one of those have been at Anfield. Everton may have their backers in this one because they are in great form at the moment with just the one defeat in their last 12 played in the top flight. But their luck against the Reds doesn’t seem to change.

Both teams to score at Bet365 is a 3/4 shot and Everton have rattled off 17 goals in their last six Premier League games. They have found scoring hard against Liverpool in recent times, though, with five blanks recorded in their last eight against the Reds home and away. The Toffees have scored only the one goal in their last four visits to Anfield. Will Lukaku be able to fire them to a point or three? Everton’s last win at Anfield was in September 1999 (W0 D8 L8 since) and this fixture has seen 21 red cards shown, more than any other Premier League fixture.

Liverpool v Everton Merseyside Derby Prediction

Liverpool’s home form has been great and they have seen off big opponents recently at Anfield. But Everton’s form can’t be dismissed in all of this and it is worth sticking on a score draw to play itself out with Lukaku getting on the scoresheet at some point.
