Just to put into context just how many goals they individually produced, of all the teams which finished 13th and lower in last season’s La Liga, none of them scored as many goals as a club as Lionel Messi alone did. Cristiano Ronaldo scored more goals on his own than fourteen of the other La Liga clubs managed to tally for themselves across the season.
You are talking about phenomenal numbers here. Luis Suarez really looks like the only one in the league who could realistically push them. He finished with a bang last season with nine goals in nine games and netted 16 in total across his 27 league appearances after missing the first two months of the term. As for Neymar, he netted 22 goals in 33 league appearances, but still, stand that up against the returns of Messi and Ronaldo and you are nowhere close.
