Newcastle V Club Bruges Europa League
Newcastle can shoot themselves into the next stage of the Europa League if they can do the double over Belgian side Club Bruges on Thursday night. The Magpies secured a 1-0 home win against them on Match Day Three and sit three points clear of Bordeaux at the top of Group D. The Magpies defence has yet to be breached in Europe this season and another tight performance will see them firmly in the driving seat.

Newcastle v Club Bruges Europa League Betting Odds at online bookmaker BetFred:
Bruges 11/8, Newcastle 15/8, Draw 12/5

Verdict:
No reason why Alan Pardew’s men can’t go out and get the job done. This is only their second match on the road in the group so far, having seen an understrength side earn a 0-0 draw away at Maritimo. Even if they haven’t been overpowering or outstanding performances so far from the English side, they have taken full advantage of their two home matches and are in a strong position now. It was a fairly even match on Tyneside a couple of weeks ago, which was settled by a goal from Gabriel Obertan. Alan Pardew again rested some of his main crop of players and we will likely see that done again on Thursday. A draw wouldn’t be a bad result at the end of the day in this one for the Magpies and they should be good enough to get that. The Belgians have conceded five and scored just two in the group so far. Nothing for Newcastle to fear. A 1-1 Correct Score bet for a price of 5/1 at online bookmaker BetFred in conjunction with their promotion below looks good.

Newcastle v Club Bruges Betting Preview:
The Magpies away from home are slight underdogs for this one. That’s a little surprising, but it’s because they won’t field a full side. Newcastle have won their last six matches in a row against Belgian opposition, so that’s a good positive for the English side. There is also the current European form of the Magpies, who have lost just one of their last thirteen, winning ten of those. So there is good reason to suggest that they will still get something out of this match. Further reason to back Newcastle? They have kept clean sheets in each of their last three matches away from home in Europe, although they have won just one of their last four (losing one and drawing two). You can pile things on top of that when you look at the form of Club Bruges as well, who have lost their last five matches in a row in all competitions, conceding twelve goals in that stretch. A draw looks likely but no reason why the Magpies couldn’t sneak a winner.
