Next Chelsea Manager betting odds turn to Mourinho after Guardiola heads to Bayern

To whom will Abramovich turn next?

Football Betting

With Pep Guardiola making a return to football management with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga next season, it has left Chelsea in a bit of limbo. Guardiola was one of the favourites in Chelsea Next Permanent Manager betting, but with the Spaniard dismissing a move to Stamford Bridge, it has left a confusing situation for Roman Abramovich. The Russian billionaire is a big fan of Guardiola and wanted him at his club, but he has suffered rejection. With Rafa benitez on only temporary assignment in West London, where the leader for next Chelsea manager going to come from.

The speculation over a return for Jose Mourinho won’t go away. The Special One is having a tough season in La Liga, with reports over dressing room fallouts. However, he only signed a big new contract last year after securing the Spanish league title, so will he tough it out there? It is an interesting situation, and what makes Mourinho favourite is how much he was admired at the Bridge. The Portuguese manager knows what life is like at the club under Roman Abramovich and while he would be welcomed back by the Chelsea faithful, questions over his relationship with Abramovich may cause some hesitation in backing Mourinho in next Chelsea boss betting. It was fractured when he left, how much has it been repaired?

Offering much better value is Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp. He made Dortmund into a European force, fending off Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title last season. There is a lot of promise in a move for Klopp, who are highly unlikely to retain their league title this season. They are also in a tight scrap for a Champions League place as well. If that fails this season, a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer would be a good new challenge for him. Klopp is forward thinking and adventurous enough with his football philosophy to fit Abramovich’s plans.

Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. This is an interesting one. No doubt the Argentine has done a superb job, with limited resources compared to the might of Barcelona and Real Madrid. However, he has had the benefit of having Radamel Falcao in his ranks. Should Chelsea make a move for Simeone, it may bring the factor of being able to lure Falcao to the Premier League. Germany’s Joachim Loew has also started to get linked with a move to the club as well. He again, is another who would bring the flair and style that Abramovich wants.

After bringing in the highly unpopular Rafa Benitez though, if that doesn’t yield any success, there may be a diplomatic move by the club to bring back a favourite. Gus Poyet has made a solid name for himself in managerial circuits and would be a familiar face back at the Bridge. So too Gianfranco Zola, regarded as the best player ever to pull on a Chelsea shirt. Odds on Zola have been trimmed over the past week or so, as speculation mounts that a move will be made for him.
