Who will be the Next Leicester City manager? A recent 3-0 home defeat against Millwall, saw former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson sacked from club. He left Leicester while they were in 13th place in the league, and you wouldn’t think that was a call for such drastic action. However, Leicester City had much higher expectations this season, and should have been running along for a favourite to actually gain promotion. What really worked against Sven Goran Eriksson was the amount of cash he splashed around in the summer, trying to fulfill a promise of expectancy to get the Foxes back into England’s top flight. Almost £15 million was spent by Sven in his quest to make Leicester a force to be reckoned with this season, however, the new season just did not pan out that way, and after 13 months in charge, the Swede has gone. Naturally this had led to all sorts of speculation in the media, about who would be coming in to take over at the club. Along with Eriksson, first team coach Derek Fazackerley also departed the King Power Stadium, so the search is still on. The list of names being bandied around has been long, from Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Lee Clark, Martin O’Neill and ex Forest boss Billy Davies. Lee Clark and Martin O’Neill have both been vocal in stating that they are not interested in the job. So who is left in the running? Well, topping the list at the moment is Nigel Pearson for a price of Evens at Victor Chandler. The Hull manager has been quite tight lipped over a move to Leicester, but it wouldn’t be a popular move with Hull doing nicely up in sixth place in the Championship. Mark Hughes has been trading well at around 3/1 at Victor Chandler, the same price as Martin O’Neill still is. Hughes actually seems to make a good fit, while O’Neill, who used to manage Leicester City of course, has said that he doesn’t want the job. O’Neill walked away from Aston Villa a couple of seasons ago, and while he has been linked with big name jobs, he has remained in retirement. Looking down the list of potential candidates for the Next Leicester Manager betting, we have Roy Keane also in the mix at 3/1 with SkyBet. Hasn’t been much word from him, so you would have to consider him a good option to have another crack at management. But one name which has suddenly cropped up, is that of former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, trading at 8/1 with Victor Chandler. Leicester’s ambitious Thai owners, who haven’t been shy about opening their wallet must be getting frustrated, as they need the right man to take them forward and reach the promised land of the Barclays Premier League. Right now, we think that former Forest boss Billy Davies, who did a great job at the club, is superb value out at 9/1 in Next Leicester boss betting. He has the proven Championship experience and forward thinking that the club need.

Leicester face Leeds United in the Championship on Sunday, and are Evens at Boylesports to pick up three points.
