Omega European Masters Golf Betting Info
While the US PGA FedExCup will take a lot of the golf betting attention this week, there is some action on the European Tour to look forward to, as we head to Crans-Sur-Sierre in Switzerland for this great setting.

Omega European Masters Golf Betting Favourite and Defending Champion
Thomas Bjorn enjoyed victory here last year in what was one of his greatest ever triumphs. It was Sunday’s performance last year which elevated him to the top of the leader-board. He needed to deliver something spectacular because there was a tremendous amount of talent challenging for the title, namely Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy. But Bjorn’s spectacular round of 62 on the final day, one of the best of his career, despite a couple of bogeys en route was enough to push him to the top of the pile. Along with his win he has also landed as runner up twice before as well at the course, and fired in a top ten last week at the Johnnie Walker Championship. Bjorn is trading as 14/1 favourite with online bookmaker Bet365.

Omega European Masters Golf Betting Other Contenders
Scotland’s Paul Lawrie should be riding high after delivering four great rounds at the Johnnie Walker last week, fully living up to expectations as one of the favourites. He was just solid and consistent all week, taking the tournament by four shots in the end. That was his second win of the season, having taken the Qatar Masters back at the start of the year as well, and his seventh top ten of the season. Showed great form last week but has never gone particularly well at this event, apart from a second place finish back in 2002.

Alexander Noren hasn’t been in too bad shape of late. Although he only managed 66th at the US PGA Championship, he has two top tens in his last four starts and put in a 26th at Gleneagles last week. The Swede also has two top tens in his last four starts at the Omega European Masters, one of them being a win in 2009. He is on a streak of missed cut, top ten, missed cut, top ten at the event though. Will that continue. Generally a very solid player and sitting 29th in The Race to Dubai. When Noren won this in 2009 it sparked him into life and he went on a brilliant run of form.

Matteo Manassero could be worth a look because he has had patches this season where he has been running pretty hot. The young Italian only just crept inside the top 100 at the US PGA Championship, but has five top ten finishes for the season. He has only turned up at the Omega European Masters three times before, but with all three finishes inside the top 25, one of them a third place finish in 2010, he makes a pretty good candidate here this time around. The field here is usually stronger, but the likes of Westwood and McIlroy are off contesting the FedExCup play offs.

Best Outside Bet
Thorbjorn Olesen is just looking like he is going to make another breakthrough very soon. He has had three top 15 finishes in his last four starts and fired a 27th at the US PGA Championships as well. He was a winner back at the Sicilian Open in April and is just producing some fine tee to cup golf at the moment. Great value in backing him in what is only his second Omega European Masters. Had a horrid round of 77 on Friday last season, but he is a much stronger player twelve months later. Thorbjorn Olesen is trading at 25/1 with online bookmaker Bet365.
