PGA Tour FedEx St Jude Classic Golf Betting Odds and Preview

Sports Betting

The FedEx St Jude Classic is the big focus on the PGA Tour golf betting this week as it is the final competitive action that the players will take on the Tour ahead of the 2014 US Open. There’s a good field out running this week, including the reigning champion Harris English, who frankly isn’t being heavily tipped here after not bringing great form into his title defence. He was in much better form when he arrived at TPC Southwind twelve months ago and carded the victory.

It is big hitting Dustin Johnson who is running at the top of the market as 14/1 favourite with Boylesports this week. Johnson won the title here a couple of years ago and went out in search of back to back Southwind victories last year, putting in a great challenge with a T10 finish. His all round game is solid enough to get him in contention again here and plenty of top 15 finishes around for the season to warrant some value in the Top Ten Finish market at 6/4.

England’s Lee Westwood will be tempting backers to have a shot at him, as he is looking chock-full of value at 6/5 in the top ten finish market. Like Johnson, he has won on this course before (back in 2010) and his overall form on the PGA Tour is more than enough to suggest that he is going to challenge this week. Westwood has posted three top tens in his last five starts on the PGA Tour this season.

Punters probably won’t know what to do about Phil Mickelson. The big lefty was runner up here last year, but there is something about his game which will probably leave punters hanging and assessing his US Open chances instead of going close again here. There’s just an edge, the glue to pull of the components of his game together at the moment which is missing. Hasn’t managed to post a top ten finish this season on the PGA Tour, so assess where he’s at at the end of this ahead of US Open betting.

There is a great promotion running at online betting site Boylesports for your FedEx St Jude Classic golf betting this week.
