Players Championship Darts – Taylor made to sweat, but still strong favourite

Sports Betting

The mighty Phil Taylor is looking to add the Players Championship title to his recently won PDC World Championships Darts title. All of the action is taking place in Purfleet at the Circus Tavern, and the competition is already into its latter stages, with the final taking place on Sunday. The Players Championship brings together the top 32 Players in the Order of Merit at the end of the 2009 season, of which Phil Taylor was of course, top. Sunday, sees all of the action from the Quarter Finals in the afternoon session. There is no let up for the players, as both the semi finals and the finals will also take place during Sunday evening.

Phil “The Power” Taylor had some hard work in order to see off Terry Jenkins, with the match going to a deciding leg, which Taylor snatched. That rounded off an 8-7 victory for The Power, who was looking uncharacteristically uncertain on some of his doubles. Still, even if that was a blip of form, he is still overwhelming favourite to lift the title. Not surprisingly, it was Taylor who won the inaugural Players Championship last February and as dominant a figure as you can get in sports, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be able to lift the title for a second time.

All of the action from the Circus Tavern can be seen via Bet365’s live streaming service. The streams are free for funded account holders. Follow Phil "The Power" Taylor with excellent Live In-Play betting and a generous matched deposit bonus!
