Premier League Betting – Streaks and Sequences

A statistical look at the teams in and out of form

Betting Advice

We are going to assess some of the strongest Premier League Streaks and Sequences ahead of this weekend’s betting fixtures. This is always a good place to look, because it really paints a picture of the current form and status of teams. Form pretty much counts for everything (not totally everything, because we always like to use a bit of fixture history to back up our betting) but looking for football streaks and sequences can help you pull out that big winning bet. Here we analyze who in the Premier League is doing the best and doing the worst in terms of runs of form ahead of your weekend’s football betting. This should help you with some pointers as you scan your football coupons.

Premier League Fixtures Analyzed
Manchester United v Liverpool, Blackburn v QPR, Bolton v Wigan, Everton v Chelsea, Fulham v Stoke, Sunderland v Arsenal, Swansea v Norwich, Spurs v Newcastle, Wolves v West Brom, Aston Villa v Man City

Longest Run of Consecutive Matches Without Defeat?
After being held to a 3-3 draw last weekend by Manchester United, Chelsea are still the Premier League’s top team on an undefeated streak. That draw last week extended their run to five league matches without a loss. Chelsea’s form isn’t top notch though, as they have drawn their last three, but they are proving the most difficult to beat at the moment. Andre Villas Boas takes his troops to Goodison on Saturday to face Everton in what is a tricky match, and really another draw wouldn’t be out of the question at all in that fixture the way things are going.

Longest Run of Consecutive Matches Without a Win?
Wigan’s misery in their relegation battle this season sees them nine league matches now without a win. It is miserable times for Wigan at the moment, and they go into a massive six pointer at the foot of the table against Bolton on Saturday. Massive match for the Latics, because they really can’t afford to lose further ground.

Longest Run of Consecutive Matches Won?
Sunderland’s revival under Martin O’Neill continues and it is the Black Cats who are the Premier League’s top side on a winning streak at the moment. Sunderland have rattled off three consecutive wins, showing some great form, and they stay at home this weekend and will be hoping for another big three points as they host Arsenal.

Longest Run of Consecutive Matches Lost?
Stoke City are on a run of three straight loses in the Premier League, as they have dipped in form and are finding wins pretty tough to come by at the moment. Tony Pulis’s men head to Craven Cottage to face Fulham, who aren’t in tip top form themselves at the moment. So it could be a good chance for the Potters to change their fortunes around.

Most Unlikely To Draw?
Well Man Utd were leading this stat until last weekend, when they fought their way back to a 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge. It is Newcastle United, who are up to fifth in the league at the moment and looking in good shape, who are the most unlikely to draw. The Magpies haven’t drawn a game in eight matches now in the league, but they face a tricky trip away at White Hart Lane to face Spurs this weekend.

Longest Home Sequence Without Defeat?
Out of the home teams for this round of fixtures, it is Swansea who are showing the most resilient form at home at the moment. The Swans have a mightily impressive home record this season, their first in the Premier League, and they are on a run of six home matches without defeat. The Swans face Norwich on Saturday.

Longest Away Sequence Without Defeat?
Out of the away teams for this round of fixtures, it is Chelsea again here, as they are doing pretty well away from home at the moment. The Blues are on a seven match streak away from home without tasting defeat in the Premier League at the moment. Their last away loss was that feisty encounter at Loftus Road against QPR back in last October, which ultimately led to John Terry being stripped of his England captaincy.

Most Likely To Keep A Clean Sheet?
Manchester United have kept the League best twelve clean sheets this season.

Most Likely To Not Score?
Swansea and Bolton have failed to find the back of the net in ten of their Premier League matches this season.
