Jessica Ennis-Hill has stepped away from her glittering career on the athletics track. She is one of Britain’s greatest ever athletes and an inspiration to many. She drew huge appeal in her athletics career and she will do just the same post-athleticism as well. She is a marketable face the Olympic and World Champion is likely to be coveted for a lot of work.

So where will Ennis-Hill turn to next? Well, Paddy Power were quick out of the starting blocks to speculate, launching a market about what she will do next. There are options aplenty as well and the two which see her remaining in her sport in some way, are the shortest priced option in the market. You can take a 1/2 price on her following the likes of Paula Radcliffe into BBC punditry on athletics coverage or 5/2 on her staying in a more active role and coaching the upcoming talent of Heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson.

There is an appealing price of 2/1 on Ennis-Hill being award a Special Achievement Award at BBC SpOTY 2016 in the market as well. But there is also speculation of her doing the reality tv rounds and topping the pile on that one is a 6/1 on her competitive nature pulling her into next season’s Strictly Come Dancing. Far less likely are the 12/1 options of her entering I’m A Celebrity later in the year or going into the Big Brother house.

Speaking on her retirement a spokesman at Paddy Power said: “Even though she’s not over the Ennis-Hill just yet, golden girl Jess has decided to bow out of athletics.

“There’s plenty of speculation as to what she might do next, but I reckon she could do it all, at the same time, and still be the best in the world at it. If I were her, I’d stay at home all day marvelling at my rock-hard abs.” Register an account with online betting site Paddy Power and earn £30 worth of free bets as welcome bonus from them.
