Scotland v Tonga rugby betting will give the Scots the chance to get some success on the board in their Autumn Series. It has been tough going for the Scots so far, who opened with a heavy defeat against New Zealand and then went down 21-10 against South Africa last weekend. Try scorer last week, scrum half Henry Pygros will get the start against Tonga as coach Andy Robinson makes five changes from the side which started against the South Africans. Richie Gray will be fit to play after getting a concussion last weekend against the Springboks. Scotland have yet to put together a full 80 minutes in a match and that has hurt them. They have at  least tried to play more positive, attacking rugby but it has come at the expense of some of their gritty defence.

Scotland won’t be in the top eight seeds for the 2015 World Cup, so Andy Robinson is simply using this chance to get a look at some of the players who could make an impact in next year’s Six Nations and beyond. The Scots really need a morale boosting win as they take on Tonga at Pittodrie. It is about finding some consistency for the Scots over the course of the game, both punishing teams where they exerting pressure and learning to absorb pressure at the back better. Lessons will have been learned from two tough opening Tests in the Autumn and just maybe the Scots will be able to turn all that into a much needed win. Scotland are just two places above Tonga in the IRB rankings and so should give the Scots a good test.

Tonga like to run the ball and they also have a huge physical presence as well on the field. They can be sharp and they have players who can turn the game around in an instant. There have only been two meetings between the two nations before, with Scotland winning on both occasions. The last meeting was way back in 2001, the match prior to that back in 1995, so no recent history. Both were thoroughly convincing wins for the Scots, but Tonga have improved vastly since there. Tonga lost 28-23 against Italy at the start of November, before beating the United States ahead of their trip to Scotland.
