Wales to edge narrow win at Murrayfield

Rugby Betting

It is a big weekend for both of these in the Six Nations with the two of them sitting level on five points so far after two games played. With one win in the bag each and one losing bonus point picked up there is everything to play for in this one. Scotland opened their Six Nations campaign with a fantastically spirited win over Ireland at Murrayfield so it will be massively interesting to see if they can follow that up by landing a win over the Welsh as well.

The only difference between the two sides so far this season has been the tighter defence of Wales really. Scotland haven’t gone particularly well in the scrum this season and they could struggle again there in that area and scrum half Ali Price is going to have his hands full in a head on duel with Rhys Webb. Webb looks terrific value at 4/1 in the anytime time tryscorer market for this one. The loss of Greig Laidlaw and his metronomic goal kicking is a massive loss for the Scottish and along with backrower Josh Strauss out as well, the Scots are still counting the losses from that narrow defeat in Paris against France last time out.

Wales have George North going for this one after his dead leg and he is 9/1 First Tryscorer favorite. The Dragons put on a good battle against England at Cardiff a couple of weeks ago and weren’t that far away from a win. The Welsh, whose pack competed very well against the heavyweight English forwards, will be the same and the visitors are going to make key progress through there. Wales have not conceded more than two tries in any of their last 23 Six Nations games so they will be confident of keeping Scotland are arms length in this one.

Scotland have won only one of their last 13 encounters with Wales in the Six Nations and have lost their last nine in a row against the Red Dragons. The Welsh are also on a four match winning streak (their best ever) at Murrayfield and they have scored a try in each of their last 13 games in the Six Nations with George North scoring in five consecutive matches in the tournament. But then Scotland have won their last three home games and they will be looking to dig as deep as they did in upsetting the Irish, but they are underdogs for this one. Look for the Welsh to cover a -1 handicap at Paddy Power for a price of even money, that looks stacks of value.
