Southampton v Hull Betting Preview – Premier League 29th April 3.00pm

The Saints have a good chance to respond to their midweek loss out at Chelsea. They played well enough in that one but their defence will need to sharpen up a bit. They have good winning form at home over Hull and if the Tigers can get anything out of this one it would be a huge boost for them, but they are having trouble converting on the road.

Southampton v Hull Betting Tips

Southampton are running on a four-match winning streak against Hull on home soil, and not only that, they have won four of their previous five Premier League matches against them as well, scoring at least two goals in each of those games. So the Saints look a solid bet in this one, even though they did suffer a loss at the KCom against Hull back in November. Southampton have posted a W6 D4 L5 record on home soil in the top flight this season and they have won just one of their last four there (W1 D1 L2). Overall home and away they have gone W4 D1 L3 in their last eight, but each of those three defeats in that sequence did come against a top four side. Three of Southampton’s last four games played have seen at least two goals and over 2.5 goals at Coral is a price of 4/5. Both teams to score in this one is trading at 3/4 because the Saints can look a bit shaky at the back. In the anytime goalscorer market leading the way is Manolo Gabbiadini at 21/20.

Southampton have lost just one of their last 12 Premier League home games against sides from the bottom half of the table (W7 D4 L1). The Tigers have not won there since back in 1951 and have lost ten of their last fifteen visits there (D5). Hull are still going along so well on home soil, but can’t match up their away form at all. They have managed just the one win away all season long (D2 L14) and they are currently on a five-match losing streak away out on the road in the top flight. They have a little breathing space between themselves and the drop zone, but only two points, so one in this one could be huge for their hopes of staying up. Hull have scored in three of their last four away games (one goal exactly) and in the Coral correct score market, a Southampton 2-1 result is a quote of 8/1. The Tigers have Abel Hernandez and Oumar Niasse at 5/2 in the anytime goalscorer market.

Southampton v Hull Predictions

Southampton Home Win: The Saints have had an easy time of things at home against Hull in recent games and can land the three points in this one. Hull still can’t seem to perform out on the road and the Saints can edge them.
