Tottenham v Leicester Betting Preview – Premier League 29th October

It has been a rough time for the Foxes out on the road this season, so will they be able to go and get something out of a tricky trip to White hart Lane on the weekend? The Foxes have suffered defeats in each of their four away games this season and they have conceded 13 goals in those four road matches. So it is a big ask for them, however, Spurs have been stuttering a bit lately without a win in any of their last four games across all competitions (D3 L1) but they are the only remaining top flight side who have yet to taste league defeat. Will they rediscover their clinical tough against a flaky Leicester defence?

Tottenham v Leicester Betting Tips

Can Tottenham rediscover their winning touch? The Lilywhites have slumped to back to back draws in the top fight and have failed to win any of their last four in all competitions. After being held to draws by West Brom and Bournemouth, perhaps they will find some more comforts at home instead. They have been great at White Hart Lane with a W3 D1 record in their four Premier League games this season and that’s enough to suggest that they can win this one. Each of the home victories that Spurs have taken in the league this season at the Lane have been with a clean sheet as well so a Tottenham to win to nil in this one is a quote of 7/4 which may not be a bad option. Spurs have the best defensive record in the top flight with just the four goals conceded so far across the season. Each of those goals have been from set pieces as well.

Leicester did win at White Hart Lane last season in the league and that snapped a four match unbeaten streak that the Lilywhites were on against them. Something to bear in mind here is that Spurs haven’t kept a clean sheet in the league against Leicester in any of their last nine meetings now so a both teams to score punt is a price of 4/5 to take on Saturday’s meeting. Last season they two went up against each other four times and there was a total of nine goals scored across those fixture. Strangely enough, each of those nine were scored by a different player. Spurs are missing Harry Kane and vincent Janssen, who is an 11/8 anytime goalscorer option has been struggling for clinical finishes. Son Heung-Min is 6/4 favourite in the market. Tottenham are the only unbeaten side left in the top flight still and are looking to go 10 matches unbeaten from the start of the season since 1990/91.

What may give Spurs a chance here is Leicester’s poor defence on the road. The Foxes have lost each of their four away games so far this season and they have shipped a total of 13 goals in those four games. They have been pretty strong at home, but just haven’t been able to get things together out on the road at all. They have only netted the three away goals as well so far. Jamie Vardy and Islam Slimani are joint top scorers with two league goals each and they are 5/2 and 12/5 respectively in the anytime goalscorer market. Seven times this two have met in the last two seasons and Spurs are slightly ahead from those games with a W3 D2 L2 record. Spurs and Leicester respectively are the two sides who have earned more Premier League points in the 2016 calendar year than any other side.

Lester boss Claudio Ranieri has actually never lost a Premier League games against spurs and the Italian has posted a W7 D3 managerial record against them. You can take a tempting price of even money on the game going under 2.5 goals on the game. You have to consider Leicester’s poor away form and Tottenham’s solid defence for that one. Remember that the Foxes haven’t picked up a point so far away from home and a Tottenham 1-0 correct score may have some appeal as well at a price of 13/2. Leicester have lost their last three league games before playing a midweek European match and they (as well as Tottenham) have a UEFA Champions League match coming up in midweek. The Foxes aren’t the defensive force that they were on the road last season by any shot.

Tottenham v Leicester Predictions

There is a decent chance of Tottenham bouncing back into winning ways in this one because the defence of the Foxes has been pretty vulnerable so far this season away from home. Tottenham need a boost and need to find something clinical in their attacking play because that is pretty much the only thing that is letting them down at the moment. Look for a low scoring game but for Spurs to edge it by a one goal margin.
