Tottenham v Southampton Betting Preview – Premier League 19th March 2.15pm

Spurs have been tremendous on home soil in the top flight this season and they will fancy their chances of winning again there on the weekend. However, they have lost Harry Kane again through injury which may throw a spanner in their works and Southampton have convincingly won their last two away games in the top flight with clean sheets. This could be a great game at the Lane on Sunday.

Tottenham v Southampton Betting Tips

Tottenham’s hopes of clinging on to second place in the league has been made a little more difficult with the loss to injury of Harry Kane. Spurs have scored just eight goals in nine league games without Harry Kane this season (W3 D4 L2) so that shows how valuable he is to their cause. Their form this season at White Hart Lane has been immense in the Premier League and they have gone W12 D2 there in the league this season and they are on a nine match winning streak there as well. In that nine game winning streak they have collected six clean sheets too and a Tottenham to win to nil at Bet Victor is a price of 7/4. Spurs did suffer a defeat in last season’s corresponding fixture, but that is Mauricio Pochettino’s only loss from his five Premier League games against his former team Southampton (W3 D1 L1). So without Kane, Vincent Janssen and Son Heung-Min are 11/10 options in the anytime goalscorer market with Dele Alli at 11/8. Alli does have three goals in two Premier League appearances against the Saints. Spurs rolled out a big 4-1 win over the Saints at St Mary’s earlier in the season and they have won three of their last four at the Lane against them.

The Saints have managed to fire off ten goals in their last four Premier League away games, including four in each in their last two. They last scored four goals in three consecutive league games back in December 1980; a run that also included a 4-4 draw against Spurs at White Hart Lane. Over 2.5 goals at Bet Victor is trading at a price of 9/10. So the Saints have claimed back to back away wins heading into the weekend and that snapped a streak of three defeats on the bounce on the road that they were on. Southampton should be pretty fresh because they have played only one league game this month. The Saints have managed only the one clean sheet in their last 25 away games in the league against Spurs and both teams to score at Bet Victor is running at a price of 4/5. Manolo Gabbiani has scored in each of his first three Premier League appearances and he has scored in each of his last seven in all competitions (9 goals). He is running at a price of 9/4 in the anytime goalscorer market.

Tottenham v Southampton Predictions

Tottenham home win: The Saints haven’t beaten any of the top sides away from home this season in the league and Spurs have been so fantastic on home soil that they are likely to go and roll out another three points in this one, it just probably won’t be by a big margin is all.
