Watford v West Ham Betting Preview – Premier League 25th February 5.30pm

This should be a pretty competitive match up at Vicarage Road because there really isn’t anything to chose between them. They are carrying roughly the same form and both can be totally hit and miss on the day. So there is probably going to be an exciting open game to come from the Saturday evening kick off in the top flight and pulling a winner out of this one is a tough one. Both have shipped plenty of goals this season and with just two points separating the two, with West Ham in ascendancy, this could be real ding-dong battle.

Watford v West Ham Betting Tips

Watford have the chance to climb up the table a bit as they are only the two points behind West Ham in the standings heading into this one. Watford have picked up their form lately after having put together a disappointing streak of D1 L4, and have improved up to a W2 D2 L1 record to follow on from that. The Hornets have W5 D3 L4 at Vicarage Road this season in the Premier League and they have lost just one of their last five there in a W2 D2 L1 record, so not too bad. Watford rolled out a thrilling 4-2 win at West Ham earlier in the season and that has left them with two wins in their last three league games against the Hammers, which comes after they had won just one of their 22 league games prior to that against the Irons. Looking at just Premier League meetings, then Watford have won three of their last four against the Hammers, but two of those were out on the road. They did land a victory in this corresponding fixture last season, putting a 2-0 win on the board and a Watford 2-0 correct score bet at Betfair is a big 12/1 price, while the 2-1 option on the home win comes in at 10/1.

Each of Watford’s last two wins have been by a 2-1 scoreline and three of their last four in the top flight have been settled by that scoreline. 67% of Watford’s home games this season in the league have gone over the 2.5 goal line so there is a high probability that we are going to see another entertaining clash between these two. Over 2.5 goals at Betfair is a cracking price of Even money which looks to offer a lot of value in this game. Watford’s 2-0 win in this fixture from last season ended a run of 11 league games against West Ham at Vicarage Road without a win for the Hornets. Troy Deeney has three goals in his last four Premier League appearances and he is trading at a price of 7/4 in the anytime goalscorer market and he is 11/2 in the Betfair First Goalscorer market as well. There is a price of 3/4 on both teams to score in his fixture as the Hornets have managed only the one clean sheet in their last seven on home soil. There’s nothing much to choose between Watford and West Ham at the moment.

The Hammers have not been in bad form themselves having won six of their last ten Premier League games (D1 L3). They have been doing alright out on the road as well having won three of their last four away from home (L1). West Ham have scored at least three goals in three of their last four away from home in the top flight as well, and Andy Carroll is an 11/5 option in the Betfair anytime goalscorer market. Carroll has been in great form lately with five goals in his last six Premier League starts for the Hammers. Carroll has also netted in each of West Ham’s last three away wins. Manuel Lanzini has scored two goals and provided two assists in his last five Premier League games for West Ham, and he is a price of 7/2 to net in this one on the back of his form. In their history, West Ham have never lost back to back league games against Watford and if you look at the head to head over the last dozen meetings, they are strong. Much like Watford though, West Ham struggle for clean sheets so expect plenty of action to come at both ends.

Watford v West Ham Predictions

Pretty tough to make a call on the winner her. Watford haven’t done a lot of winning of games, but have collected wins in two of their last three including that win over Arsenal. They have lost just one of their last five at Vicarage Road and that was against Tottenham, so they may just be able to get over the finish line with three points in this one, but it probably won’t be by anything more than by a one goal margin at all.
