White Christmas and Queen’s Speech betting head competitive festive markets

Books, TV and speech subjects make interesting markets for punters

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

There are plenty of markets open for your Christmas betting as usual, with online bookmaker William Hill. The most popular market open is the options to take on White Christmas betting. There is some buzz that areas of the UK will see some of the white stuff as curtains are pulled back on December 25th. As usual, Scottish cities are leading the way in the White Christmas betting market as favourites with Aberdeen in at 7/4 favourite to have a White Christmas, while London are out at long odds of 4/1. See our full White Christmas betting options here.

But White Christmas betting of course is not the only festive betting markets to enjoy with your bookmaker. The UK Christmas number one market is every popular, with a firm favourite trading in the shape of The Justice Collective who are in at 1/7 to top the charts when everything is tallied on December 23rd, 2012. You can check out the latest Christmas number one betting market here.

In another Christmas media betting frenzy, an active market has been the Number One Christmas book. Much like the Christmas Number One market, there has been a firm front runner here as well, with Jamie Oliver’s ‘Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals’ taking a frim grip of the market as 1/6 favourite with online betting site William Hill. THe Guinness World Record book 2013 is back in the spot of second favourite at odds of 8/1, with JK Rowling’s first best selling venture outside of the Harry Potter series ‘The Casual Vacancy’ going at a price of 8/1. All other contenders are well back back in the market extending back from odds of 12/1 and longer. In the battle for the top TV ratings for Christmas Day, Eastenders are running as hot favourites at odds of 1/2 to grab the most viewers, with Doctor Who back at 4/1, Downton Abbey at 5/1 and Coronation Street well back in the odds at 8/1.

Number one Christmas Book Odds at online bookmaker William Hill:

Christmas betting would not be complete without open markets on the Queen. After everyone is stocked up knee deep in wrapping paper and bellies full of Christmas lunch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be showing up on the TV screens. The Queen’s Speech is ever popular again to have a flutter on and the content of what she will say will be a matter of interest to punters. Offering little value is the Olympic/Paralympic Games at short odds of 1/33, while it is highly likely that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (that’s Prince William and Kate) will get a mention and that is trading at 25/1. Odds of 2/1 are being quoted by online betting site William Hill for the Queen to make a mention of the pending Great Grandchild. A long shot is that Her Majesty will make a mention of Gangnam Style which is trading at 100/1.

Will the Queen mention any of these during her Christmas address:
