Cibulkova catches eye indoors in Canada

WTA Bell Challenge Tennis Betting Info
With the US Open done and dusted and yet another Grand Slam title for Serena Williams, it is off to Canada for part of this week’s WTA tennis betting. The majority of the top stars are taking a break after the heavy US Open series but as always there are some good betting options around to have a good look at. The Bell Challenge is held indoors and for many of the field this will be their first indoor tournament of the season.

WTA Bell Challenge Tennis Betting Defending Champion
Czech player Barbora Zahlavova Strycova took the honours here last season with a win in the final over surprise finalist New Zealand’s Marina Erakovic. There is probably more of a challenging field this time around with a few stand out names in the field. Zahlova Strycova hasn’t been in any particular form of late and since losing the final of Palermo back in July, has barely made an impact. She crashed in the first round of the US Open and not looking in any great shape. Not a quality depth of field here though, so a quarter final appearance should at least be achievable The Czech is well down the pecking order here at a price of 33/1 with online bookmaker Stan James.

WTA Bell Challenge Tennis Betting Favourite
Dominika Cibulkova will serve as your WTA tennis betting favourite this week as she has had a great season. The Slovakian, who won in Carlsbad back in July, is a pretty solid performer and usually a certainty for a quarter final spot, especially in lower tiered events like this. Cibulkova has hit at least the quarter finals of events eight times this season and has her eye on a top ten place in a pretty productive season. This is in an indoor event and Cibulkova was almost untouchable indoors last season, running up a 9-1 record undercover. Strong bet, the top seed in the field and betting favourite this week at a price of 5/2 with online bookmaker Stan James.

Best Outside Bet
Canadian talent Aleksandra Wozniak may be worth a look. She, along with Yanina Wickmayer should have the run of the bottom half of the draw and when it comes down to it, Wozniak is carrying the better form. The Canadian has quietly had a pretty solid season and she hit the quarter finals of the Rogers Cup recently, on home soil in Canada as well. So she will enjoy playing this week and will have home support. Woznaik has hit a few quarter finals this year and that may just tip things in her favour in the bottom half of the draw here. Dominika Cibulkova and Mona Barthel, the really big two threats in the field are in the other half of the draw, so big chance for Wozniak this week.

Recommended Bet:
Weighing up the talent in the field here in Canada, Dominika Cibulkova is the stand out player without question. Not too far away from being a top ten player and no-one else can come close. So Cibulkova as the outright winner does make some sound value. But for your match betting throughout the tournament, look for young German starlet Mona Barthel who continues to impress. She has just gone off the boil a little bit but could take the draw by the scruff of the neck. She would however run into Cibulkova before the final, so it is worth sticking with the Slovakian instead.
