They just have the top flight experience and edge to get through.

It is harder to pick an ante post bet out of this one, because eight teams from the Champions League join the tournament after the group stage, so you don’t know exactly who is going to be in there. Teams who aren’t quite good enough to qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League stands a good chance in the Europa league, because they will have been playing better, more competitive European teams than if they had started in the Europa League.
