Lamia Prediction – Can Lamia finally grab first home win?

11th placed Lamia probably won’t get a better opportunity to open their account on home turf at their Dimotiko Athlitiko Kentro Lamias ground than here this evening when they play host to second from bottom Panetolikos who have yet to gain a single point so far ion this season’s Super League.

Despite also remaining winless after their first 5 matches of the new Greek top flight campaign, the hosts have at least got a few points on the board in these early weeks of the new season following 3 draws with Panathinaikos 1-1, a 2-2 draw with Atromitos and a 1-1 stalemate with Panionios.

Having lost both of their opening two matches away from home with defeats suffered at AEK Athens and Olympiakos respectively, Lamia will no doubt be relieved to be on home turf for this important clash, and one which could see them grab their first win of the season.

Lamia have actually lost just 1 out of their last 8 matches at home, but they’ve drawn 4 of their last 5 matches on home soil, so it’s worth keeping the draw onside here with the hosts.

Panetolikos Prediction – Can Panetolikos end nightmare start?

Having lost all 5 of their league matches to date in these early weeks of the new Greek Super League season, Panetolikos face another tough challenge on Monday night as they seek to gain their first points of the new term.

It’s been a disastrous start to the new Greek top flight campaign for manager Luis Castro and his side as they’ve suffered defeats to PAOK, Xanthi, OFI Crete, AEK Athens and Atromitos in the first few weeks of this new season, and indeed, the visitors have lost 10 of their last 11 matches overall in the Super League.

Panetolikos’s only success during this miserable and lean period was a 1-0 win away from home at Apollon Smirnis back in April of last season, but the outlook doesn’t look good again for this season either.

Away from home, Panetolikos have lost 7 of their last 8 matches on their travels which has seen the visitors concede a total of 19 goals and score just 3 in reply, and it’s their lack of punch up front which has contributed to their poor start, as well as their leaky defence of course.

Key-Facts – Lamia v Panetolikos

  • Lamia have lost just 1 out of their last 8 matches at home in the Super League
  • Panetolikos have lost 7 of their last 8 matches on their travels in the Super League
  • Panetolikos have lost all 5 of their Super League matches so far

Betting Tips Verdict

The two remaining sides without a win will face off tonight and Lamia look the better equipped to take the points here but as there have been a number of draws, I advise backing the hosts with the draw no bet option here.
