Aberdeen Preview – Can Aberdeen extend winning streak?
Sunday’s hosts, Aberdeen, picked up their sixth win on the trot in all competitions during the week with a solid 2-0 win away from home at Norwegian outfit, Viking, in the Europa League, and will now be seeking to make it seven wins on the trot when they entertain bottom club, Motherwell, at Pittodrie.
After being handed a 1-0 defeat at home by Rangers in the season-opener of the Premiership, Aberdeen have really hit their stride, picking up wins in the league against St Johnstone, Livingston, Hibernian and Kilmarnock while also progressing in the Europa League qualifiers with victories over NSI Runavik and Viking respectively.
The Dons will now be seeking a third home win on the trot this Sunday but goals could be sparse as four of the previous five meetings at Pittodrie between these two clubs have resulted in under 2.5 goals.
Motherwell Preview – Can Motherwell climb off bottom?
Although Motherwell currently sit bottom of the Scottish Premiership ahead of this upcoming trip to Aberdeen, the visitors are only there on goal difference as they’re level on points with the likes of Livingston and Kilmarnock prior to this weekend’s action.
Motherwell recently ended their winless start to this new Premiership season last time out with a 1-0 home win over St Johnstone following four defeats in their first six matches of the new term, and they too grabbed a midweek win in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League over Irish club, Coleraine, although they needed penalties to do so.
