AC Milan and SPAL clash in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 on Wednesday afternoon. With this one taking place at the San Siro, Milan, who have won this tournament on five occasions, are the odds-on favourites to go through. SPAL have won just one away game this term, and they could struggle on the road in the cup in midweek. Here are our out tips and predictions for this Italian cup clash.

AC Milan Preview – Easy home win for the Red and Blacks?
Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan go into this Coppa Italia matchup having won just one of their last four encounters. That sole victory did come last time out, though, as goals from Rafael Leao and new boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave them a 2-0 Serie A victory at Cagliari.
I Rossoneri have been hard to beat of late, losing only one of their past seven in all competitions. Milan currently sit tenth in Serie A after another tough campaign, however. The Devil have won just seven of their 19 league matches, drawing four and losing eight of the other 12.
Milan have really struggled at the San Siro this term, winning just twice on home soil. However, one of those victories did come against SPAL back on October 31st; the other was against Brescia in August.
With Milan languishing in mid-table, Pioli’s boys could do with a run in the cup this season. They should see off SPAL on Wednesday, progressing through to the last eight as a result.
SPAL Preview – Another defeat for Gli Spallini away from home?
Leonardo Semplici’s SPAL have had a season to forget so far. The White and Blues finished in a respectable 13th place last term, but they are rock bottom of the table at the moment.
SPAL have picked up a mere three Serie A victories up until now, losing 13 times. Semplici’s side are three points adrift of safety after 19 matches. Can they turn their fortunes around in the second half of the campaign?

SPAL have beaten FeralpiSalo (3-1) and Lecce (5-1) to reach the Round of 16. However, both wins have come at the Stadio Paolo Mazza in Ferrara.
Gli Spallini have the joint worst away record in Italy’s top flight, crashing to eight defeats from ten away matches. Nevertheless, can they secure a shock victory on their travels in the cup in midweek?
