Accrington Stanley and Guiseley meet for the second time in 10 days as they feature in this FA Cup first round replay at the Wham Stadium on Tuesday night following a 0-0 draw last time out.
Accrington Stanley are now seemingly in the driving seat ahead of the replay, not only because they hold home advantage, but Stanley have put together a five match unbeaten run going into this cup replay having recorded wins over Crewe Alexandra and Barnet in League Two as well as a resounding 4-0 win away at League One side, Wigan Athletic, in the Football Trophy.
Accrington have also registered recent back-to-back wins on home turf with league wins over Coventry City and the aforementioned Barnet, and manager, John Coleman, has various attacking options open to him such as a potent forward line consisting of Kee (10 goals), Jackson (7 goals), along with Clark and McConville (4 goals apiece.
Visitors Guiseley had also put together a useful run of six matches without defeat prior to the weekend’s 1-0 loss at home to Bromley in the National League, and they now face an uphill task of overcoming an in-form Accrington Stanley, especially considering their recent results away from home.
Guiseley have recorded just one win from their last 11 on their travels, which was a 3-2 win at Woking, and whilst their results have improved in the past few matches (three draws and a win), they had previously suffered five defeats from the previous six matches beforehand.
In addition, Guiseley don’t possess the same quality in attack as Accrington, and this should become evident in Tuesday night’s cup replay.
