Accrington Stanley Prediction – Can Accrington bounce back?

A disappointing 2-1 defeat away at Rochdale last Saturday ended Accrington Stanley’s recent 4-match unbeaten run in League One so the hosts will be keen to bounce back with a result this Sunday against top of the table, Ipswich Town.

That loss away at Rochdale has resulted with Accrington Stanley dropping down into the bottom three of League One despite picking up recent points against Wycombe Wanderers, Blackpool and Oxford United in 1-1, 1-1 and 2-2 draws respectively as well as a 1-0 win away from home at Southend United.

Results at home though for Accrington have generally been disappointing so far this season as the hosts possess a disappointing record of 1-2-2 8/10 which includes just the one home win at their Wham Stadium with a 2-1 victory against MK Dons.

But with just 4 wins out of their last 17 matches at home in League One, Accrington Stanley have failed to really convince on home turf for any length of period in the third tier.

Ipswich Town Prediction – Can Ipswich make it 5 on the trot?

Having strung together a 4-match winning streak, Ipswich Town sit proudly top of League One with a 1 point lead over 2nd placed Wycombe Wanderers and they’ll no doubt fancy their chances of adding a fifth win on the bounce away at Accrington Stanley on Sunday.

Recent wins against MK Dons, Gillingham, Tranmere Rovers and Fleetwood Town have helped the Tractor Boys to top spot of the third tier, but Ipswich and manager, Paul Lambert’s brief this season will be to gain automatic promotion straight back to the Championship in this campaign, so we’re unlikely to see Ipswich taking their foot off the gas here.

Ipswich Town have also been impressive away from home this season too as their away record of 5-1-0 11/2 indicates and includes winning their last 4 matches on the trot on their travels with wins gained at Bolton Wanderers, MK Dons, Gillingham and 4th placed Fleetwood Town.

In addition, Ipswich have kept clean sheets in each of these recent 4 away wins too, so Lambert will be keen for his defence to continue their miserly ways at Accrington this Sunday as they seek a fifth away win on the trot.
