League One/Two Tips

ACCRINGTON STANLEY v NEWPORT COUNTY

Saturday 18th November 2017 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

Accrington Stanley return to league action on Saturday afternoon following their shock FA Cup exit to non-leaguers, Guiseley, during the week, and the hosts will be keen to return to winning ways against Newport County this afternoon no doubt.

Accrington Stanley were dumped out of the cup by Guiseley on penalties, but they have a three match unbeaten run in League Two where they sit in second place and just one point behind league leaders, Notts County, heading into this weekend’s action.

Promotion to League One is manager John Coleman’s priority this season, and his side are in pretty solid form at their Wham Stadium in the league with a record of  5-1-2  15/8 which includes recent back-to-back wins over Coventry City and Barnet. Look out for striker Kee (10 goals) today, as he’ll be looking to make amends for missing one of the penalties during the week.

Visitors Newport County were held to a 1-1 draw last weekend by a resurgent Port Vale outfit at Rodney Parade, which extended their run of matches without a win in League Two to four as they make their way up to Accrington looking to break this recent ordinary set of results.

The Exiles also drew 1-1 with Mansfield Town at home as well as defeats to Colchester United (at home) and an away loss at Notts County 3-0, while their results away from home in general have been inconsistent so far this season.

Newport possess an away record of  3-2-4  13/14 so far this season, and although they’ve collected wins at Coventry City, Crawley Town and Forest Green Rovers (the latter two opponents being in the bottom half of the division), they’ve also suffered defeats at Exeter City, Morecambe, Luton Town and Notts County.
