AFC Wimbledon Preview – Can Wombles back up emphatic result?
AFC Wimbledon did their survival hopes in League One a power of good on Saturday when they registered an emphatic 5-1 win away from home at Accrington Stanley and they now return to home surroundings for the forthcoming visit of Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.
The Wombles have previously recorded a 1-0 home win over Northampton Town but these two victories have been Wimbledon’s only highlights in their last 11 matches in League One but the result on Saturday has lifted them out of the relegation zone.

Three draws with Wigan Athletic, Rochdale and MK Dons along with a 2-1 home win over Bristol Rovers have helped lift Ipswich Town back into contention for a possible play-off spot in League One and Cook certainly has experience of achieving promotions in the lower leagues having guided Chesterfield, Portsmouth and Wigan Athletic to promotion in recent years.
Ipswich still have plenty of work to do though to improve results on the road as the Tractor Boys are without an away win from their last five outings but the visitors should at least grab a point here.
