Albania Prediction

Albania finished in 3rd place in Group 1 of League C in the UEFA Nations League competition behind group winners, Scotland, and runners-up, Israel, with the hosts earning just three points during their campaign in the group stages.

Albania started their Nations League campaign brightly enough with a 1-0 home win against Israel but quickly found life tough going after that as the hosts suffered three defeats on the trot with 2-0 losses away to Scotland and Israel respectively, and then finishing up being handed a heavy 4-0 defeat at home by group winners, Scotland.

Not ideal preparation then for Albania who look to be challenging Moldova, Andorra and possibly tonight’s opponents, Turkey for the ‘best of the rest’ tag in this Group H.

The hosts did manage a 1-0 home win against Wales in a recent friendly but this ended a run of four home matches without a win in all competitions, and the hosts have managed just two wins out of their last nine matches on home soil.

Key-Facts – Albania v Turkey

  • Albania recently lost their last 3 matches on the trot in the Nations League
  • Albania have won just 2 of their last 9 matches on home soil
  • Turkey have lost just 1 of their last 5 away matches

Turkey Prediction

Turkey had to endure a difficult and tough campaign in the UEFA Nations League as they finished bottom of Group 2 in League B behind group winners, Sweden and runners-up Russia, with the visitors suffering relegation at the end of the campaign down to League C when the competition resumes.

The visitors managed just one win from their four group matches which was a surprising 3-2 win away at Sweden, but defeats to Russia home and away and a 1-0 loss at home to Sweden confirmed their relegation at the end of what was a disappointing showing by the Turks.

Turkey are a side that tend to blow hot or cold but they’ll take heart from their recent draws against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine, both in 0-0 stalemates in recent friendlies, while away from home, they’ve lost just once in their last five matches on their travels, which was the 2-0 loss at Russia in the Nations League.

In addition, Turkey have remained unbeaten in their last two visits away at Albania, so they may feel they can walk away with something in this encounter.

Betting Tips Verdict

Albania have been unconvincing at home and may struggle against an admittedly inconsistent Turkey side who are more than capable of picking up an away win here.
