Premier League Tips

ARSENAL v MANCHESTER CITY

Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

Sunday afternoon will herald a new era at The Emirates Stadium as Spaniard manager, Unai Emery, takes to the dug-out for the first time in the Premier League with his Arsenal side taking on Manchester City as my betting tips continue.

After 22 years at the helm, it’ll be a strange feeling for Arsenal without former manager Arsene Wenger in charge, but a new season brings fresh hopes as the north London club will look to improve upon last season’s disappointing 6th place finish.

Not that Arsenal struggled at home last term – far from it; The Gunners ended the campaign with an extremely strong home record of  15-2-2  54/20 with only Sunday afternoon’s visitors, Manchester City (61 goals) scoring more goAls at home in the top flight than Arsenal.

Emery has the attacking trio of Lacazette, Welbeck and Aubameyang at his disposal with the former, Lacazette, perhaps having a reason to prove a point this season after being left out of France’s World Cup squad.

Arsenal come into this clash having won their last five on the trot at home with last season wins over Watford, Stoke City, Southampton, West Ham and Burnley – the latter being a 5-0 thrashing. The hosts failed to score just once in their 19 home matches last season, which was a 3-0 loss against Manchester City.

Onto the visitors, Manchester City then, and they’ll have targets on their backs this season as the team to beat following their emphatic and utterly convincing capture of the Premier League title last term.

Pep Guardiola’s side looked almost unbeatable throughout the majority of the season, and although they were beaten away from home, The Citizens finished up with an excellent away record of  16-2-1  45/13 with their one defeat being a 4-3 loss at Liverpool.

City haven’t felt the need to splash out on numerous signings during the summer as they already possess a star-studded squad, but Guardiola did swoop to sign Rahid Mahrez from Leicester City in their major signing of the window.

I’m expecting Arsenal to make a better fist of things this time around against Manchester City and my betting tips suggest backing both teams to score here.
