Preview: Mikel Arteta will hope to mark a century of Premier League games in charge of Arsenal by guiding his team to their fourth win from four this season. To achieve that, the North London club must become the first side to get the better of Marco Silva’s still unbeaten Fulham.

Arsenal – Arteta to mark a century in style?

It has been a dream start to the season from Arsenal, who are the only Premier League team to have won each of their opening three games. Last week’s 3-0 scoreline away at Bournemouth didn’t flatter them at all, with only a combination of VAR and goalkeeper preventing them from racking up an even wider margin success. This after 2-0 and 4-2 victories away to Crystal Palace and at home to Leicester City, respectively.

Only two previous Arsenal sides begun a Premier League campaign winning the first four games. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta is set to celebrate 100 league games in charge. No shortage of motivation then ahead of Saturday’s visit from Fulham, against whom they’ve never lost a competitive home fixture (W24 D6). As the Gunners seek out a fifth straight win in the competition that also keeps them top of the table.

Key Stat: Arsenal are unbeaten in Premier League home games against newly-promoted opposition since November 2010, winning 28 of 33 such matches during this period.

Fulham – Silva’s EFL Cup sacrifice to pay dividends?

Marco Silva made his intentions for this fixture clear when, on Tuesday, for the club’s EFL Cup second round tie away to League Two’s Crawley Town, the Portuguese made 10 changes from the Fulham side that beat Brentford 3-2 in thrilling fashion last time out in the league. The Cottagers were subsequently beaten 2-0 at Broadfield Stadium. Dampening what had been an otherwise promising start to the campaign.

Expect all the big names to return for this, in the main because none of those involved in midweek gave Silva much to think about. Fulham are among seven teams yet to lose a Premier League fixture this term. Last season’s Championship winners opened with successive stalemates, at home to Liverpool and away at Wolves, but secured their first top-flight win since March 2021 by beating local rivals Brentford last weekend.

Key Stat: Prior to last week’s 3-2 win at home to Brentford, Fulham had been winless in their 12 previous Premier League games (D4 L8). That win also ended a run of 24 games without victory in a Premier League London derby.

Arsenal Vs Fulham Betting Advice

Man City drawing with Newcastle meant that Arsenal are the only team with a 100% record coming into this weekend’s Premier League fixtures. The Gunners have beaten all of Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Leicester by at least two clear goals and are 9/10 with Unibet (-1.5 Asian Handicap) to do so for a fourth time this weekend. However, I think Fulham can keep this closer, and at the very least grab a goal.

Arsenal Vs Fulham – Key Facts:

  • Marco Silva is looking to become the first Fulham manager to deliver an away win over Arsenal. The Gunners are undefeated across all 30 previous home meetings in all competitions, winning 24 and drawing six of these games.
  • That looks a mighty tall order though. Arsenal boast the sole surviving 100% record in this season’s Premier League, with three wins from three so far. Although Fulham are one of seven sides yet to suffer a loss (W1 D2).
  • Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has three goals in as many league appearances this season. The Serbian’s only blank came in Fulham’s 0-0 away draw versus Wolves, when he had the opportunity to win the game but missed a penalty.

Marco Silva’s team ran riot on their way to winning last season’s Championship, scoring 106 in 46 games at a rate of 2.30 per game. Stepping up to the Premier League was meant to rein them in, but they’ve already notched five times. It is true all of those came at Craven Cottage. However, Mitrovic missed a penalty in the 0-0 at Wolves. Moreover, Arsenal are currently six home league games without a clean sheet.
