AS Roma will be keen to get a positive result on Saturday night when they play host to Atalanta in order to retain their current fourth place in the Italian Serie A, and a Champions league spot accordingly.
Roma have suffered just one defeat from their last 11 league matches as the hosts have enjoyed a pretty successful campaign in the Italian top flight so far this season, and that loss was an excusable 1-0 defeat away at second placed Juventus.
Roma’s last 11 matches though have produced seven wins and three draws, and with a solid home record which stands at 7-1-2 16/8 which includes having not lost in their last six on home turf, they look in a good position for further points here. Forwards Dzeko (8 goals), El Shaaraway (4 goals) and Perotti (3 goals) will look to add to their respective goal tallies.
Atalanta were on the end of a defeat last time out at home in a 2-1 loss to Cagliari, and they now face a tough trip to Rome to take on AS Roma who hold an important home advantage at their Stadio Olimpico where they’ve won four of their last five.
Atalanta have lost just once in their last six matches overall, but their results away from home have been unconvincing so far this season as they possess an unspectacular record which stands at 2-3-4 10/14 although they’ve won their last two trips at Genoa and AC Milan respectively.
That said, both of these recent wins on the road were recorded against bottom half opposition, while against teams in the top half of Serie A, they’ve drawn two and lost four.
