Aston Villa Prediction – Can Aston Villa bounce back?
It was with a fair amount of confidence and expectation that Aston Villa made their way down to London for last week’s season-opener against Tottenham, as the west midlands club had recently secured promotion back to the Premier League and had enjoyed a successful pre-season.
A 2-1 win in the Championship play-off final over Derby County at Wembley ensured Dean Smith’s boys would make a return to the top flight after a near miss the previous season, and having won all 5 of their pre-season matches, Villa looked to be riding a crest of a wave.
However, Aston Villa were sent crashing back down to earth as they suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham, with striker Harry Kane in clinical form in front of goal. Villa weren’t helped by some naive defending at times, but with a return to Villa Park this Saturday, the hosts have a great chance of redeeming themselves against Bournemouth, who tend not to travel too well.

Bournemouth Prediction – Can Bournemouth continue recent run?
With just 1 defeat out of their last 5 matches in all competitions, Bournemouth will feel they have a chance of taking something from their trip to the west midlands this Saturday afternoon against newly promoted Aston Villa.
This recent run of results were amidst Bournemouth’s pre-season preparations with their one defeat during this sequence being a 4-3 loss at home to Serie A side, Lazio. Wins over Brentford 3-1 away and a 3-0 home win over Lyon were welcome victories though ahead of the new season for The Cherries.
The visitors opened their account in last week’s season-opener at home against another promoted side, Sheffield United, with a 1-1 draw, and although The Cherries finished last season with a couple of away wins towards the end of the campaign with victories at Huddersfield Town and Brighton, Eddie Howe knows his side must do more on the road this term.
