Augsburg continue to hover just above the relegation play-off positions as they are one league position and two points ahead of third from bottom club Stuttgart prior to their Friday night clash with Bundesliga league leaders, Borussia Dortmund.

During this period, Dortmund have recorded wins against Borussia Moenchengladbach, RB Leipzig, Hannover 96 and the aforementioned, Bayer Leverkusen, while results away from home have seen Dortmund suffer just one defeat from their last 11 matches on their travels.
Dortmund therefore possess a solid away record which stands at 6-4-1 17/8 which includes five clean sheets, and they hold a good record at the WWK Arena against Augsburg as the visitors are unbeaten in their previous eight visits in all competitions.
