Frankfurt – Eagles reeling from last week’s capitulation?

The Eagles were also beaten on their first Bundesliga outing of 2022. They must wonder how, though, after building a commanding 2-0 half-time lead at home to Borussia Dortmund only to concede three times in the closing stages – twice in the final three minutes of normal time – to lose 3-2 at Deutsche Bank Park. Just a second loss in nine league matches (W6 D1) for Oliver Glasner’s previously in-form charges.

Frankfurt will probably appreciate being back on the road this weekend then. They have taken maximum points from four of the last six Bundesliga away games, turning over champions Bayern in Munich last October, and have found the net at least twice in each of the last four such matches. It certainly helps that they are facing Augsburg, winning three and losing none of the past four encounters between the teams.

Key Stat: Following last week’s capitulation against Borussia Dortmund, no Bundesliga team this season has lost more points from winning positions than the 12 of Eintracht Frankfurt.
