Barnsley registered a third win on the trot in League One on the weekend with a 2-1 home win over Wycombe Wanderers and extended their unbeaten run to 12 matches overall which includes grabbing nine wins during this impressive spell of form.
With six wins from their last seven league matches, Barnsley have lifted themselves up into automatic promotion reckoning as they now sit in second place in the third tier and hold a five point cushion ahead of third placed Portsmouth.

Burton Albion currently occupy a disappointing mid-table position in League One despite extending their unbeaten run in the third tier to five matches following a point away at Shrewsbury Town on the weekend with a 1-1 draw at the New Meadows.
However, Burton have been unable to make strides up the league table as The Brewers have drawn four of these last five matches with stalemates against Doncaster Rovers, Bradford City, Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town, although they did register a 2-0 win away at AFC Wimbledon two matches ago.
Burton Albion have also improved their form away from home too in recent weeks under manager Nigel Clough with a run of five matches without defeat on their travels which includes wins at Rochdale and the aforementioned Wimbledon amidst an overall away record of 4-5-7 21/24.
However, these two recent wins on the road were against teams sitting in the lower reaches of League One, so they’re expected to face a much tougher prospect in the shape of second placed Barnsley on Tuesday night.
