Belarus – Can Belarus stay close to Germany?
Belarus have had to contend with a difficult fixture schedule in these Euro 2020 qualifiers as they were handed back-to-back away matches against Netherlands and Northern Ireland which resulted in 4-0 and 2-1 losses respectively.
The Belarussians’ task isn’t made any easier on Saturday night despite returning to home soil as they now prepare for the visit of the former World Cup holders, Germany, to their Borisov Arena but although they’ve started with back-to-back defeats, recent form at home has been quite solid for Belarus so they’ll be hopeful they can put in a better shift tonight.
The hosts have put together a four match unbeaten run on home soil which includes wins over San Marino 5-0 and Luxembourg 1-0 as well as draws with Hungary and Moldova, but there’s no doubt they’ll be facing superior opposition in the shape of Germany in this clash.

Germany Prediction – Can Germany avoid banana-skin at Belarus?
Germany’s problems on the international stage have been well documented in recent times as the former World Cup champions have suffered a dramatic slump in fortunes, firstly as they failed to progress through to the knockout stages of the World Cup in Russia last year – they finished bottom of Group F below South Korea on goal difference.
But Germany’s woes didn’t end there – Joachim Low’s side finished bottom of Group 1 in League A of the less illustrious UEFA Nations League competition behind 2nd placed France and group winners, Netherlands, so perhaps their usual straight forward qualification for the Euro 2020 finals may be tested this time around.
Germany started their campaign with an important 3-2 win away at Netherlands which sent a message of intent as the visitors seek to claw their way back to the top of the World rankings, and they too bring a four match unbeaten run into this clash.
